I used to call it my "running away" feelings. It did me a power of good and I returned ready to face real life again. Unfortunately I can't afford the overseas places anymore, but have friends in various places in the UK. I go stay with them and my condition is never mentioned, we just have a good laugh together. I do have some very close friends that I can call on if I get really down with things, but I prefer to just escape those feelings if I can. If not I go sulk for a day or so, with by bottom lip quivering, feeling sorry for myself and get it out of my system.@MancBee I can completely relate to the feeling of wanting to escape and just go and be "normal" somewhere for a bit, away from all your troubles. I did that last year, just for couple of days. That's all i could afford as I'm not skint like R Jackie (think that was me btw).
I just think R Jackie could do with some of the same. Leave her old life behind for a few days, get some perspective on her own situation. Escape the torment
that she endures on SM. She might see that there is a whole world out there that isn't full of misery.Hospital been on the phone all morning, various departments. Surgery booked for Tuesday, so Covid Test again Sunday. Be glad to get it over with. Might do a runaway weekend to my best friend in Liverpool next weekend.
