I bet she's never stepped foot inside a B&M!
The B&M in Southend is at the little airport retail park so she’d need someone to drive her if she was going, it’s a rubbish journey by public transport from Thorpe Bay. So yeah you’re probably right.

Can't tell if this squig is taking the piss or not with their suggestion that Jack's meal calculations would be more accurate

@People-huv-tae-know I think the Tramadol was most likely before the drunken furniture buying.

Jack said in the Grauniad article that she was prescribed them 6 years ago and took them for 18 months. Her prescribed dose appears to have been 8 a day, I would guess they were the 50mg fast acting ones as the 100mg slow release would not be prescribed at that level. One ay she said she took 40 and states it was 5 days' worth.

The furniture buying was when she was with LJC in 2018-2021 - not sure when LJC moved in with her during that timeframe. Trammies would have been 2016-2018 (I think if it was 6 years ago).

It's all a bit confusing because Jack lies so much.

Hang on a minute, when did LJC leave?
I thought SHE LEFT in May/June 2020.

When did the vile grifting Jack Monroe go into rehab?
I thought that was 2021.

Is Jack Monroe LYING AGAIN?

From Sept 20-April 21 Jack referred to LJC as bubble buddy and very good friend and said they slept in separate rooms.

You know what they say - those who can, do; those who can't, teach. Jack definitely can't. Also, she's a big liar. HTH.

Geez is Billy Bragg another narc? I’ve never heard that song before so just had a listen and the idea that the song is even good or would sound good on a piano is laughable. Political message is one thing but it’s just basic tit musically.
I have to say I love that song, you have to remember that it was written in the early to mid 1980s when Thatcher was queen and this country was very different and awful. I was very involved with the miners strike and what went on that still hasn't come out would make your either weep or get very angry.

The past is a another country they do things differently there.

Publicly begging for mercy from the trolls and asshats people she's shamelessly duped for years who continue to torture her quite rightfully demand a refund when she's in serious pain denial. Again.

God she's pathetic. Talk about a dignity by-pass.

I've not read the report properly yet, but they're suggesting something similar to the system in Germany, aren't they? Employees pay into a social insurance system, and are given 67% of their previous salary for up to a year if they lose their job.

It works there because the labour market is much more rigid - it's harder to both hire and fire, so lots of younger people remain on temporary contracts for years instead of being hired properly and can only access the basic ALG2 benefit which is much more like our JSA.

I'm not sure that it's a particularly fair way of doing things, and it seems like it would be very difficult to translate across into the UK employment system.
I’m not hugely well versed in our benefits system here as I've never had occasion to use it (the only time I needed it was after I moved here straight after uni and there was no chance of me getting any money due to being a foreigner. But I believe you can get Arbeitslosengeld even if you have been on temp contracts, you have to have worked 12 months put of the last 30 to be eligible to receive 67% of your pay for 6months (it's based on the amount of time you've been paying in to the social security system rather than what type of contract you were on). To be fair there's probably all sorts of different rules and things, Germans are not ones to do things simply and I know you are basically obliged to go to job interviews they find you and do courses etc they want you to do. After this time, or if you aren't eligible, you have to apply (again lots of paperwork, because Germans love paperwork) for what used to be called ALG2 but is now Bürgergeld since the beginning of the year. Which is a basic level of ~500€ a month but depends on a lot of factors and the cost of your rent is covered (up to a certain amount, depends on where you live - they have set amounts for set areas depending on how many people etc). It's all very complicated so I wouldn't claim to know everything about it and I'm sure the system could be improved!

On topic, I'm not sure I'd trust the conclusions of any think tank Jack is part of!

He's always bollocking women who recognise women as a distinct sex class not as an identity aswell. A socialist who denies material reality.
Totally agree, but that song was written many years ago when he had more of a grip on reality
