That Man got there first with Ministry of Food, a genuinely useful book on the basics of cooking that she would kill to have written.
I noticed she put something about using whole peeled plum canned tomatoes rather than chopped ones as they contain more tomatoes. That’s something I only learned recently from the That Man TV channel. I read a lot of cookery books and have done for years and he‘s the only chef I’ve heard say it. And then suddenly, it’s in Grifty Kitchen!

I expect she taught him that

My favourite Jamie book I still flick through it for things like roast timings, it’s a very useful book 10/10 recommend I was an ok cook to start with but I go back to this when I’m in a rut simple enjoyable food (the idea is you pass it on but mine is splodged with all manner of things, so don’t think I can it’s a sign of a well loved cookbook if you ask me)

My mum has always said it. Plus if you’re using the whole toms you can pour the liquid off more easily into the pan after you’ve bloomed the spices and started the onions etc off but before you want to add the actual tomatoes.

Can I tempt you to read the wiki of this thread yet @monga ? 😂 you’ll never leave!
I've been reading awfully Molly .I'm wondering will her whole family be looking at an investigation if James decides he's going to dig deeper .I see someone is trying to discourage him already ;)

There is Jamie, agreed, or there are other cooks doing sensible budget recipes that a cash-poor amateur can easily attempt. For example Miguel Barclays' series of £1 meal books are simple, tasty recipes that a nervous cook can attempt, and they make sensible use of store cupboard staples plus easy-to-find, things in a supermarket, and are all relatively cheap, even in these expensive times.

No inexplicable combinations, no baffling misuse of canned beans, no pitiful faking of how much it cost by making the portion sizes tiny.

I had this the other night: it was quick, it was tasty, it was filling:

She's on awfully mollys account when last seen. She doesn't really interact with Jack but spends most of her time going after anti-Jack squigs.
I've a question for anybody with a Twitter account. All these possible socks, or adjacents, seem to have a lot of RTs over time and then, occasionally, some active tweeting eg during/after chaoi etc. Could somebody look see if they have lists running? Was just wondering whether that is how the activity is easily maintained to pretend it is a normal account vs a sock..... Thanks frauen.

The ones I think are socks tend to be short lived affairs. No lists, start snarky tweets at anti-Jack but particularly minor refund seekers, get rumbled and then vanish. There's very little pretence at these being normal accounts. There are a lot of accounts being accused of being socks but I'm not convinced by most of them, I really think they're just stans.

I would dearly love to see her try OnlyFans. I run an OF page and it is incredibly competitive, so to be successful at it you have to be putting up new content multiple times a day. Subscribers tend to be very unforgiving of missed updates. She’d get none of the middle class, genteel patience of Patreon subscribers. Sex work generally requires relentless perseverance, shooting sexy upbeat stuff whether you’re sick, sad, hungover, just been LEFT, feeling body dysmorphic… she’d be a first class nightmare at it.
Fly-on-the-wall mockumentary of Jack honking and chaosing a start-up OF account would be beautiful.

Amazing potential for cameos. Lush and sympathetic Mom, Old Chief bumbling around, previous OHs giving their reactions. Breath-taking.

Russ in Cheshire remortgaging his house because Jack announces she'll be doing rear foo foo shots for top tier subscribers and then nothing happens.

Quoting you again VVV (soz) because I was searching for Jack’s advice to someone on Twitter to pinch ketchup from ‘Spoons (now sadly she’s deleted those tweets) but credit where credit is due: I found this from 2021, so it’s not new advice from Jack!

Right guys, my new book is nearly ready, but I need to ask for your help for an urgent matter…the bank is going to repossess the house if I don’t make some mortgage payments pronto.
I did re-mortgage to support Jack Monroe who had to turn to OF to raise cash for her vital and important work. None of us who joined her OF did so in the desire to see beyond her chubby lil thighs, or for gratuitous tit shots although we did pay and log on EVERY DAY for a year to show solidarity.
here’s the gofundme and duck THE TORIES!

Right - tbh though even if we’ve dared commit the atrocity of sending our little ones to an early years setting I’m guessing none of us are selling stories about our kids (and by inference their other parent) to tabloids saying how cold starving and unloved the kid was so I’m sure they’ll be fine.

Also on her teeth she takes photos from the less crowded side and colours them in white. Strongly suspect she’d need a few removing before any orthodontic treatment could happen + that wouldn’t be quick so we’d have to endure a blow by blow account of it, like when she was taking testosterone 🫠
Traditionally it takes a village to help raise a child. Whilst the traditional support networks have faded over time, childcare support is still largely delivered by women and there is no shame in using child care services. Society has evolved, women are no longer confined to being home makers post marriage and now women make up half the work force filling valuable roles in education, care and health in particular.
Most mums I know have always used a mixture of grandparents and child minders for additional care Jack had no shame in asking grandparents to care for her son. She is denigrating women for doing something completely normal. It's also a nice social experience for children, even young babies and early socialisation might benefit the immune system too. It's really crappy behavior from self proclaimed feminist and mother of the year Jack Monroe.

She seems to delight in her tales of assault. She talks about herself in the same way that an angry 13 year old might do.
I bet she's a stroppy drunk, and I could see her trying to be physical, because of her imagined toughness. We also know she's a very nasty person who goes as low as she can on twitter, but there's no way she's as hard as she'd like to think.

In reality (when she's not full of confidence boosting substances with a phone between her and the world) I doubt it would take much to send her into shitting dog mode.

Oh FFS.
She really does attract absolute bangers doesn't she.

I am gonna have a pizza tonight , and laugh at how it brought about Andrew Tate's downfall. 😐🥴
I absolutely bloody love that whole story!

So I left work, so he could live a life of moving house every year, begging me for more bread and jam, sitting in an unseated flat in clothes that were too small.
Not just that, but nursery or creche adults are only strangers for the first few days. Yet she didn't elect to home educate, so he's there, all day, with strangers in a form of full time childcare setting...

It's up to every individual to raise their children the way they see fit re childcare, education and socialisation etc.

But at least have a view and stick to it. It's like me saying I don't want my child rollerskating in case they fall over and graze a knee... then buying them a weekly skydive.

We’ll, it’s an excuse, isn’t it? She never intended to quit that job. She applied for flexible working, they said no, she rage-quit and they accepted it. She tried to rescind the resignation, they said don’t let the door hit you on the arse on your way out!
This put her in a double-bind of having to look after her own child a lot, and not having any kudos from being “one of the fire brigade” cough, call handler, cough.
