Her arrogance lead her assume she could do absolutely nothing for years toward patreon and it would carry on as normal. She was right tbh.I think she’s in too deep now and she knows stopping the Patreon won’t make it go away, so at least this way she probably figures she’s getting money from it.
If she’d stopped it when she realised (from here!) she didn’t stand a chance of catching up, way before Twitter picked it up, I think she’d have got away with the whole thing… I don’t think her backstory discrepancies would have been enough by themselves to gain traction, and the Lee A fundraising would have been buried by the people who hate him so much they couldn’t see anything else. The Patreon is what broke the camels back, and she’s got nobody but herself to blame.
Last night I was watching a NI youtuber with about 750 patrons. She hasn't done anything on it for a couple of months due to personal circumstances. But on a recent video thanked her patrons, acknowledged it was a major source of income and promised Q & A's just for them with other exclusive interviews. And her lowest official tier is £1. Personally I don't get why anyone would, but as long as the recipient is honest and open, then each to their own.
Jack completely over promised things, then didn't have the gumption or humility to pare it all down and make it manageable. For two years.
