OMG hair chopper? I'm having an extensive hair loss period currently, plus my constantly shedding (human) housemate has me awkwardly scissoring every weekI can give my opinion on this. Myself and my daughter mault (sp?) like anything and I also have three cats who all shed hair so much I’m surprised they aren’t bald. Have gone through many hoovers including a Dyson and have found a couple of winners - one is the good old Henry who happily sucks up anything including giant lumps of plaster and nails from our house renovation. They are cumbersome but a reasonable price. I also have a Shark with the anti hair wrap and this one is a game changer. It really works. No stuck hair, no awkward scissoring. I love it because it’s cordless so works really well as my everyday hoover
@GrunkaLunka both mine were the same, never used the necklaces for teething (they both did have amber necklaces though), but I used the necklace when breastfeeding!I'm back to feeling sorry for her again. She could have a really nice life if she stopped wallowing in self pity and raging against everyone and everything. She's got a beautiful son, has an apparently great relationship with his father, her parents are close by, lots of best selling books, the list goes on. It is such a waste to focus always on the negatives, and be so furious all the time. I wish she could see how beautiful life would be if she slowed down, appreciated the hundreds of wonderful things she has and stopped looking for things to be upset about.
Anyway.
The teething necklace just reminded me of something I found/find really useful...
Popping this behind a TW because not everyone will want to see it and breastfeeding can be a hot topic.
When my 2nd baby was little, she went though a phase of a few days of scratching the absolute CRAP out of my neck while she was breastfeeding. It was horrible. I used to have to try and hold her little hand but then she'd get really fucked off and stop feeding. I bought a breastfeeding necklace which was quite similar to the teething one, a long cord with some beads to fiddle with. Used to put it on when I fed her and put a bead in her hand. omg it was a miracle.
Ok. Look. I'm going to make myself extremely unpopular here by saying I think you're, en masse, getting a little carried away with the kitten situation. You may not like how she is caring for it, but at the end of the day - it is safe, warm, clean, fed and cared for.
We don't know why it's been taken away from mum, but at some point most baby animals are. And putting a kitten in a hoody pocket and taking a picture is really one of the least egregious things she's done.
Taking pictures or filming a kitten isn't abuse. There's nothing for the RSPCA to intervene on here. I know she's a real 'bitch eating crisps' for most of us but...yeah. I don't like the way loads of people raise their kids and pets, it doesn't mean they're being abused.
DisturbingSomeone asked to see Jack's face on the video. I've put it as a spoiler so not to put anyone off their dinner.
I agree. It’s pretty obvious that she is using the kitten to garner likes and sympathy on SM, which is probably a reaction to her relationship ending, coupled with the fact that she’s mentally fragile at the moment. She made a total hash of her shot at television presenting and having a disabled kitten appeals to her sense of herself as saviour of the underdog (or cat in this instance.) It helps her to feel better about herself at a time when things aren’t going great for her personally and probably professionally after the shitshow that was Letdown Larder.Ok. Look. I don’t think the RSPCA could do much other than give advice
Whilst I dislike using the kitten for attention on SM that isn’t actionable nor is the stupidity of putting on shoulders or on chairs etc nor how she appeared to introduce them nor leaving in bathroom overnight
None of it would meet any standard for prosecution it would be advice and possibly enforced visit to vet
it only serves to illustrate just how shallow and self obsessed JM is and how she isn’t the kitten’s advocate. The kitten is there to indulge her needs and wants
Imagine, a child was born with legs that hadn’t formed properly, leaving them with crooked legs. You’ve seen the pictures before, children in a walker type contraption to help them move. Now, take that image and use it with a kitten, that cannot speak, it cannot get across the pain it is in trying to walk.I think some of the comments on here about the kitten have been a little over the top.
As long as the kitten is warm, fed and loved then I think that that is fine. Although she should take it to the vet and not try to make it walk on its damaged legs before it is given a correct diagnosis and treatment plan.
