She'll be one of those idiots who assumes she can take her dog anywhere she goes. She better not be thinking of taking it to the summer festivals she's got booked.
She will probably claim it is her service dog. She is disabled, after all.

I'm trying not to imagine that poor puppy being exposed to all the loud noises and danger 😔 😔

Edited to add: Reminds me a bit of David Brent when he got a dog and he just casually refers to leaving it alone while he goes on work trips 😔

just waiting until she feeds slop to the dog and then the dog gets a very wet, stinky revenge … or worst case scenario even the dog refuses to eat the unidentifiable mush in the bowl.

I'm just back from a festival and I didn't see a single dog so I assume some festivals will have a no dogs policy.

"Mine" - why's she avoiding the question about what breed the dog is 🤔 OH must've realised how idiotic it is to get a dog together so soon. Along with all the other mad tit, obv

So this is the third time in less than two years that she's purchased another living thing as an emotional salve? followed her split from Louisa, Mini after the VBI took off and now the dog after OH scarpered.
Yes and I presume Cooper only made it to adulthood as Louisa must've been there for a good amount of his early life. I bet she fed Dash too. And SB was around more then I imagine to look after them.

Oh blimey I bet you are right. And warm weather is terrible for a lot of dogs. We can't go to any beach on hot days as ours hates it so much.

Surely she can’t be going off on any more jaunts to Scotland and Glasto now, so soon after taking a dog in? If she does, she’s not thought about the dog or who looks after it at all. She’s so blinkered.

I'd eat my vegan pigskin hat if this isn't them. That light coloured one is it. £980. Just for the dog.

I bet she doesn't keep up with their yearly injections. Not like cats, Jack. Got to go back every year.

Think it's definitely some sort of poodle mix - labradoodle seems most likely.
I don’t think it will be small and agree some sort of retriever/ Labrador / poodle mix…. Good luck with under walking that breed combo, the pup will rip through the house with oodles of pent up energy … someone send her “Marley and Me’ as an instructional and very toned down documentary for having a lab retriever type dog in your home.

that
poor
dog….

My SIL's have a rescue labradoodle, and he's a sweetie *but* he requires near constant attention and is very nervous generally. They walk him for a good 2 hours [actually, edit that, that's just when I've been on walks with them, they take him in the morning too] every single day and he still bounces round their place like playing the floor is lava.

As everyone's said, this is obviously a terrible decision on Jack's part, but I really can't get over the squigs treating a living creature as a literal prop. Horrible horrible horrible. (I've had that TikTok 'Oh no no no no no' music in my head since I first saw the tweet).

So couple of pages behind but just got the puppy posts. Jesus. I have a 7 month yo puppy and he is the hardest thing I've done. Absolutely lovely and adorable but hard work. The getting up to toilet train, the leaving him for a few seconds and building up his tolerance to being along (thank god for yak chews and Kongs) the puppy teething (his adult teeth are just coming in), weekly training classes, training generally, chewing. Just everything. Like I love him to pieces but good lord. And I'm in a mentally stable place with a husband to help and now other animals to have to introduce to.

There are so many posts on puppy101 on Reddit about puppy blues. The majority seem to be from people who got one because they were lonely and now realising how much work they are.

It’s probably some sort of poodle cross, so many dogs are these days. Poor thing, I hope she realises sooner rather than later how much hard work dogs are and how restrictive they are to spontaneous days out or weekends away and re homes it while it’s still young.

I have a neighbour who has a dog and the woman is disabled and I have never seen the dog being walked. Ever. Not by a dog walker either.

It gets out into the garden and when the woman is out it barks for hours.
Our neighbours just got a dog last year, a pup. It looks like a Dulux dog but i think it's some kind of doodle cross, it is lovely, but like your neighbours it never gets out for a walk - the furthest it goes is the end of our cul-de-sac.
My OH (i still have one, Jack) keeps saying we should take it for walks, but it's too young and springy to be around our old hound, it isn't socialised, and it isn't my responsibility. I already take sweets and things for their son who never gets out with friends and spends all his time playing on our little street with his imaginary friends. When you see how little time they have for their child, its no surprise the dog was also going to be neglected to a degree. Much the same as our Jack.
This is two people with good jobs, lovely cars, nice looking house etc, always immaculately dressed etc, so plenty of time to prioritise themselves. So sad.

Should have gone to Specsavers. I read that as 'emotional slave', but thinking about it, the meaning's pretty much the same. A dog will be a disaster for her. It's going to be a slow motion train crash. Or it would be if the train drivers weren't on strike.

She's avoiding admitting purchasing an expensive designer puppy. Doesn't quite go with the "impoverished plucky selfless campigner" and "ethical shopper" facades.
