Jack Monroe #316 Bizarrely, Jack seems to have misread the research

If she disappeared we would have no content, why would we want to disband the canal?🤔
I don't want her to disappear just to stop talking bollocks all the damn time and then being an hole.

Also imagine keeping yourself in a miserable job for spiteful reasons. She really needs to sort out her priorities. Perhaps her son would rather have a parent who's not a husk because she cannot do her job and perhaps could take him on jollys rather than screaming at random's on sm! Just sayin!

Everytime I see the performative notebook writing I think it's Jack getting petty revenge on companies that don't want to be associated with her. 5+ years ago she was advertising Samsung all in one tablets, but blew these opportunities (and the orangery) because she couldn't help but be unpleasent.

She must have earned a decent wedge for these ads surely? Can't imagine Samsung paying a pittance for TV commercials... 🤔

it's hilarious to me that jack thinks writing an extra unrequested 54 recipes is anything other than a massive bleeping pain in her publisher's arse. i wonder which insta pics she was zooming in on to figure out the recipe (god forbid you actually cook something)...was it the bowl of brown slop...or...the bowl of brown slop? 🤔

The reason she needs an admin person or two is revealed at last. To open her post and send out hundreds of invoices 🙄
sorry if repeating points made, but is she effectively saying Caroline of the Hands wasn’t very good at her job?o_O

as we know how much Jack likes making post it and wallpaper plans, surely a chart of jobs: submitted: accepted: invoiced: paid
would be a great aid memoir and cross check to send to her accountant for tax returns  SB could help with that rather than Twitter. He could open the post, sort it and put it right there for her to deal with each day. Just a practical thought.

while I’m at it, did any notice the book editing seemed to be mostly adding even more superfluous words?

We had a poster on here in the early days who seemed to know Jack irl and looked like they worked in the industry.
They said she got £10k and a laptop for the gig.

If it's anything like the music industry, as a fairly standard example (and depending on how much clout you have/in demand you are), you would sign a three-album deal. Part of the advance on signing and then draw down the rest on delivery of each new album - or book in Jack's case. I'm sure they've essentially just written her off now though and don't care whether she delivers or not. Can't see them putting much behind the marketing budget either as it's like throwing money down a drain at this point.

I'm sure they're just biding their time until this contract is up. I can't see them resigning her or there being a bidding war between publishers? Would also LOVE to see her sales numbers in full.

And she can't make much in royalties as they're probably still trying to recoup their costs on previous books!
I'm sure she's said before that she's been commissioned for her next three books (so this one, her 'memoir', and the poverty stories? Or are the latter 2 one and the same?). So if she doesn't deliver this one, she's not going to be able to go on to do the next two. I would definitely dump her at this stage because that way you can slither out of the future ones. I wonder if this is what happened when she was dropped by her last publisher for coming out as trans (lol) and decided to crowdfund instead.

They are. She will be bleeping their schedules right up believe me, and putting pressure on other authors to sub sooner.
I was wondering if her hilariously quirky performative twattery would be putting other people's work/employment at risk :(

Yeah I clocked that. This is a new JackFact on me. Why was she booted out the Labour party (if indeed she was?)? Could've been her publically campaigning with the Greens in 2015, that would breach their membership rules. Could also have been her public criticisms of Corbyn, although if that were a bootable offence then half of the shadow cabinet should've been kicked out between 2016 and 2019, tbh.
It was corbyn supporters who were being purged back in the day and other socialists are still being suspended from the party.

It'll certainly be making their lives more difficult but Jack enjoys that. She suffers so why shouldn't everyone else?

And let's not forget "establishing authority" either by being a "bestselling author" and/or speaking at events/podcasts/tv/radio is one of the key pillars of the Contrepreneur Formula as identified by Mike Winnet.

Jack may not get paid by the show hosts, but the implied trust and authority these appearances create are EXACTLY what keep the deals coming and the vulnerable Patreon givers donating.
Winnet!!!! 🤢

Hello Fraus und Herren. Long time no post. I will just read the recaps or my break away will have been for nought.

I am off for my 5th Covid vaccine today. Has Jack had her second dose yet? So immunocompromised and disabled. The medication needed for her poor arthritic hands would surely warrant booster jabs, let alone her multitude of ailments.

I was also at the lady doctor this morning. She had two full sleeves of tattoos. It really isn't that unusual. Second thoughts, maybe tattoos on women are unusual in the retirement village that is Thorpe Bay.(Though I have to say, the doctors tattoos were really beautiful, unlike Jack's)

Yes and didn't her publisher respond enthusiastically to some recent brain fart tweet about short stories based on her new hobby of finding shopping lists? SMDH.

I think that was a bit of a head pat. 'Oh you're going to write a book of short stories are you? GOOD FOR YOU! Now, if we could perhaps talk about the manuscript which is a year and a half late.'
