I agree. I am offended by the claim that missing one meal to feed your kids fundamentally changes you as aperson..this is, to me, proof that she has no idea what it is like being truly poor. I think you've hit on something here. A normal loving parent ,for want of a better phrase, would give up their meal for their child in the blink of an eye. They don't have to think about it, they just do it. A parent in poverty will be doing this regularly. It doesn't change you, it comes from who you already are if you already kind and caring.I agree.
