Hooting at Vienetta being served in posh cocktail glasses. The 80s were so classy. I know what I want for dessert tonight.

I’m also amazed they only got 5 portions out of a Vienetta. My mum would slice it so thin you’d get 8 out of it. Deprived childhood. Send monies.
Mr Moo is at Sainsburys. I've just texted him to get a Vienetta. Walls are going to be baffled by the sudden up turn in sales today!

I am a bit slow but I just realised why she was quiet last weekend and it wasn't because of fun in the sun but roaming charges in the EU.
Not as slow as me as it didn't even cross my mind. Seems so obvious now you pointed it out 😂

BRB gonna switch out my 300 hat for a dunce cap.

The height of sophistication was Gino Ginelli ice cream. I liked all of them except the tutti frutti, which had sticky candy fruit pieces that stuck in your teeth.

What a blast from the past - used to love some Gino but agree that Tutti Frutti was rank!

During one of my pregnancies I got a craving for Vienetta. Bloody love them and the nostalgia of having them as a fancy dessert at my grandparents house. Both of whom were proper working class and cooks as well. All graft, definitely no grift. Taught me lots about flavours and how to make cheap but healthy and hearty family meals.
Happy 300th thread!

My SB has chicken pox so Ill have to add a viennetta as well as some calamine lotion to the shop to help cheer him up. Such a selfless mother.

To celebrate thread 300 I will be frying up some tinned fish which has been open for several days with a sprouting potato & a wilted leek, and mixing it with some long grain rice to create a risotto. Recipe to follow, have a lovely day x

When the vienetta hats first appeared on my grunk I thought they must be nail brushes! And then as I've bin skim grunking through everyone's toot tooting for the special occasion I thought I must've just missed one of those magical canal moments where content takes a developmental leap into hilarious lore, but then the last few pages I've seen the blower up pictures and see that it is vienetta after all. The mental stimulation of the canal is like nothing else!
Happy 🎈300th🎈 to you all 💕
