I wouldnt be *that* surprised if Jack gets threats ir abuse either publicly or in DMs. Someone with that following on twitter will get threats. Why does she never show any of the death threats etc? Just...pop a little screenshot of them on her Twitter?
Oh wait , I know why. Cos they don't exist
From what I've seen, she doesn't really have any trolls. Not to the likes of the influencer lot, who get death threats and creepy incels etc. She actually has a large and supportive fanbase. The only people labelled trolls are the ones pointing out the truth, politely pointing no less!
Everything has to be twisted up into her victimhood. 'Poor Jack Monroe' in every way possible.
She's probably right now at her parents million pound house, eating a full plate of roast dinner, getting new notes from Papa H on what Tory rhetoric she can prove this week.
The word "donate" is making me feel sick.Sorry for all these screenshots, I think I just feel a bit powerless at the moment and the only way to combat it is to document how this is going down.

Your spoilered bit is sickening to read.Current number is 660 so using £3.08 (after fees) that's £2032.80 a month.
With the uplift of of new champagne socialists, using 50% of at the higher level of £6.60 we have
200*6.6
660*3.08
Totalling £2675.20 a month. The equivalent of a £32k a year job, above the national average, for not doing anything.
I support 2 people on Patreon. One is the aforementioned Dawn O'Porter who averages a post every 2-3 days. For the minimum fee, that to me is good value. Plus she does occasional lens videos which are time limited.
I hope Asda offer work experience in every dept in store and at the distribution centres. Asda Aces were subcontractors but now work direct - how fun would be to know "Asda Ace to aisle 9 please" meant someone pushing a mop?
Yes. It's like Nigella is acknowledging the fact that Jack's "career" is DEAD and Patreon is her only hope of making any moneyI know recent Jack-events have been hard to stomach (even more than her recipes) but any serious chance of a career is all but over.
Can you imagine being in the same field as someone and they send out a pity post on your behalf (which you then retweet)?
The cook book writing and appearances are obviously on their last legs with angry rent-a-gob jobs the only work for Jack now until the grown ups are available.
I know she gets the odd thing but her "star" really is declining from where it was. Any professional cred Jack may have had, has gone and all that is left is the Grift.
The patreon numbers are galling right now but that's all there is.
There's no dignity, little respect (apart from the squigs), the blue tick interest will fade just as quickly as it rose and Jack will fritter the patreon money away. Whatever Jack gets will never be enough.
I'd almost feel sorry for her but being familiar with all aspects of her work, I Shan't.
Which if you were PAYE would be about £2000 a month take home pay.Totalling £2675.20 a month. The equivalent of a £32k a year job, above the national average, for not doing anything.
Does she have to pay tax on Patreon earnings? Or is it classed as a donation?Which if you were PAYE would be about £2000 a month take home pay.
I realised today who Jack reminds me of. She's a reverse Hyacinth Bucket. If she ever says she’s poor again, or even hints at it ... then I hope she’s called out for it.
No she has to pay if earnings are above the tax thresholdDoes she have to pay tax on Patreon earnings? Or is it classed as a donation?
She isn’t a charity.Does she have to pay tax on Patreon earnings? Or is it classed as a donation?
I think VAT is around 17,5% but I’m probably wrong. In any case, zero multiplied by any number is zero so her vat bill is nilShe isn’t a charity.
It’s taxable.
her fees also have vat on them - I wonder if Patreon sorts out the VAT. Which is odd as I would have thought the ‘creator’ was proving the vatable goods or services not Patreon. I’m not a vat expert. But vat returns will then be another thing to deal with.
I've even unsubscribed to Foodim. For the love of LJC Jack the Rinser of beans and other peoples money stop it with all the bloody lies!!! Lies, LIES, BLOODY LIES!!!!!! I will no longer be using any of Nigella's recipes (I know she won't be aware of this but still).
I'd wondered whether her near total silence about the patreon explosion was out of fear. If I had hundreds of people suddenly subscribing to a service I knew I was failing to provide, but had been getting away with it, I'd be a clammy mess.Jack has retweeted Nigella.

Although Consultant Jack is always very funny.I'd love to be a fly on the wall at that meeting where she immediately backs down in the face of smiling corporate chat with a slight undertone of legal menace. Personally I'd love a furious store manager to drag her round the shop by her horrible ear pointing at the value stuff and roaring "what's that Scotch mist????" in her stupid grifting face.
We will of course have be treated to her ridiculous "Jack Saves the Day- AGAIN" version of events which the moron squigs will eat right up. I have resigned myself to her overtaking the Queen in the wealth stakes via Patreon donations.
Quoting myself but VAT is collected and accounted for by patreon https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/205259549-How-Does-VAT-Work-on-Patreon-VAT is 20%. I’m wondering why vat is applicable? Is it always applicable on patreon subs? Seems weird unless she’s putting the subs through bootstrap and bootstrap is vat registered. She wouldn’t be able to charge vat otherwise. Or does the vat portion go through patreons books? I’m going to investigate
