I wish her followers would publicly call out the BBC and Hellmans for not paying freelancers on time. It's pretty outrageous.

View attachment 321587
I know there’s a trend of freelancers being messed around and not paid but I highly doubt she’s gone unpaid by Hellman’s this long.
There’s a general code of practise that companies like that adhere to. Invoices might be paid in 90 days, but exceptions are made to small companies or individuals where the value of that payment means there could be severe consequences for them if it’s delayed and disrupts the cashflow
If she was genuinely unpaid 6 months on she would be able to start charging interest for every day she went unpaid. And if she called them up and said without this payment I can’t eat properly, something would be done

I don’t want to say anything more specific due to 🔺but there’s no way she’s not been paid for that gig yet, unless potentially there’s part of the contract she’s not delivered on yet, and even then Hellman’s could and would part pay her.

Just to clarify: there are recipe cards (Grifty Shades, supposed to be every week, launched on the 10th of October +/- a day or two) and there are postcards (Celery, Edinburgh and porno pancakes, 3 "in the mail" 🙄 every month, for all subscribers over 7£).

The postcards are pics she's already taken, and in the past she's had thousands lying around the bungalow and at one point in spring "broke her back" packing them up and sending them. In theory, all her subscribers apart from the very bottom tier should be getting 3 of these every month, including the Grifty Shades pay pigs, on top of the recipe cards.

The recipe cards almost certainly do not exist, have never existed, and will never exist.

Why the duck doesn't she just do exclusive videos, online recipes, or a little ebook of nice-looking (nice-tasting is too much to ask) recipes? Nobody else feels the need to have as much physical stuff as Jack does, and she's clearly unable to handle posting things.

Well gee, just scraping by on a living wage (that you pay yourself, to save for a house)
If you're only scraping a living wage and you're writing your seventh book, you don't need smart price and yellow stickers, you need a decent agent who can negotiate, surely?? Are these publishing companies paying her in Asda gift cards or actual cash money??? What a crock.

You can have it not for £35, not for £40 but precisely £37! Hahaha!
They all sound absolutely atrocious people.
It's these little details that show she's telling lies. Typical pathological trait. My brother is a pathological liar and has been since he was 15, I have an honorary doctorate from the University of Bullshitery and Bollocks. True story: I did get invited to join the fellowship but......

Fuming was just having a listen to all killa no filla and kiri shouted out veganish apparently a recipe actually works in it put me right off my murderer
Did she say which? I liked the Kindanara (🤢) but it made half of what it said it would. And of course a few of the others will work as they’re directly lifted from recipes that have been around for many years.

Anyone willing to risk RSI from scrolling, has she quietly deleted the ThriftyShades tweets? They were 8 or 9 October. She's deleted something...

I’ve got it! The trolls can’t get to grips with me being sensible with money because it contradicts their gaslight narrative that I recklessly flounced out of my job and ‘chose’ to live in hardship. To suddenly realise I’m actually sensible and cautious is too much for them.

😂🤣 omg there goes several ribs, along with a lung, she really needs a dictionary, sensible with money? Apart from all the expensive home goods, wasting money posting sweeties, and that picture, all of which far exceeded the weekly shop. And of course a bog standard garden hose is not good enough for chez slop 🙄

Morning - I was about to say something similar. I know in the past some big companies have not paid freelancers and suppliers on time, however it has been in the news quite a lot about people being treated unethically, and they usually do pay on time now. And if they don't, you can chase them and say you must be paid now on a one-off exception because you need the cash - I've done this myself in the past and they always pay up (it's totally possible for a Finance team to just put a payment through - it will cost them, but they'll do it).

Also where I've been paid through an agent, they will usually pay on standard invoice terms even if they themselves haven't been paid by the client - that's just how it works.

Wasn't it only the other day that Jack said she hadn't been paid for DKL???? That gig was 8 months' ago (March / April I think) - there is no way she hasn't been paid for that as yet. I don't remember when Hellmans' was - May? Also over 6 months' ago - this is total and absolute bullshit and is really winding me up TBH!

This year of all years, large corps are going to be extremely sensitive to the need for freelancers to be paid on time, especially given that many of us have had a period of time without any client work (in my case 6 months). You will not find me wailing, gnashing and clawing at the floor, because I plan ahead and I have savings that I will fall back on (that doesn't make it any less an anxious time, but you shouldn't be a freelancer if you haven't put some cash aside for when you don't have work).

Right need to go for a run, she's proper pissed me off this morning.

I'm sure it's BS. Which is why I'd live some public outrage. Of course we all know that the squiggles aren't exactly forensic, hence it will never happen.

Nothing comes up from her anymore when you search for the hashtag...
It's always been like that with that hashtag. It is a weird glitch. You have to scroll :( her tweet is still there. I searched her username plus patreon and found it via a squiggle reply.

She got caught in her own bullshit when she claimed she could lose the Hellman's money cos of the BLM stuff didn't she? Wrapping yourself in pointless lies has to keep coming back on you.

Would be great if someone legally minded said 'You haven't been paid for invoices in 6 months Jack? That's awful! Let me take up your case. No no I insist!'

The knots she would tie herself in to wriggle out of it 😂

ETA: She should make the payment run for this month with the BBC show I'd wager. When did she do it? Time has no meaning anymore. My fella is a payroll manager and soon to be accountant so I notice this stuff 😂

The only reason I can think she's not been paid for work 6 mths ago is that she's so disorganised, she took ages to submit her invoice.

Whenever I've worked with influencers (I work in marketing) they have been tit hot in submitting and chasing payment if it's one day later than 30 days.
