i wonder why he keeps his brand related stuff on his second channel
Oh interesting! On the book channel? Maybe he's planning on releasing a book journal and other book-related stationary? hmm.
yeah I only noticed yesterday, he doesn't post his brand-related things on his main big channel, and instead on his second one. (correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he say that this second channel isn't monetized?)

This guy popped up on my Explore page today...his bio describes himself as 'Youtube's leading librarian'. As an actual trained librarian (who also has a 1st class English Lit degree and a librarianship degree) I'm irritated at this!! Being a librarian doesn't involve reading and reviewing books!! If that was my job I'd have a bleeping great time 
I like how Jack was both flexing and complaining (flexplaining if you will) about Trojan sending him freebies - but god forbid they send it in a box with their brand all over it!

Long time lurker here! Not to be that person, but his stationary announcement was on his main channel (I added a screenshot, it's the video on the far right).
I also checked this because I was surprised because his humour is usually very self-deprecating so this seemed out of character? His bios say 'youtube's resident librarian' not leading which makes more sense! I didn't know you can do a librarianship degree though that's so cool! Wanted to post because I was wondering if he's still together with his girlfriend? I assumed they'd broken up but then I saw that he's in her most recent Instagram photo and standing next to her. He hasn't shared anything of her in a while since that video they did together (unless I'm wrong)? Do we know if she lives near him?
Sorry if I come across as a stalker, I'm just very bored in isolation!

I'm not sure where she's living now, but if she's moved back home (we went to sixth form together), then they'll be a good 3-4hour drive away from each other. I don't think they've split up though
Interesting! We were talking about it in the wake of his announcement that the stationary is getting stocked in Waterstones appearing on the book account. Which is made odder by the initial announcement being on the main account. Why not have the Waterstones one on the main too?
Ok that's slightly better haha my mistake! Yes to be officially considered a librarian you have to do a Masters degree, none of which involves reading books
It's just always frustrating when I see the title used like that as it just adds fuel to the idea that my job is a massive doss that is loads of fun when it's really not! I imagine he was probably a library assistant which isn't quite the same.yeah I was speaking more about him announcing its in waterstones! i thought he would of had posted that video on his main? especially since like you both said he announced it on his main when it first came out (which makes sense of course). idk his reasoning behind him posting it on his second account, I'm sure its not deep lol just something I thought was odd since any other youtuber would probably of had posted it on their main, no clue

His StoryGraph video irritated me because he’s still using goodreads!!! And he says about amazon owning it…. Stop buying off there then? Don’t stock your tit on there (I don’t know if it is) but Christ not everyone has this choice

In it I got the impression he’s only found out recently that Amazon owns goodreads too? I don’t even have a goodreads account but it was big news when they bought it, and there’s been content for years on the lack of attention paid to the website infrastructure and all it’s problems thanks to a parent company that can’t be bothered/doesn’t want to/do want need to invest. How did the news pass him by?
i think he mentioned and thanked his viewers somewhere for helping him monetise his channel within such a short amount of time
Jack is probably the only "study-tuber" (apart from Eve Cornwell, sorry she's my babey) who I can stomach these days. A lot of the time his videos will just go on in the background whilst I'm working and I find them great to get new recommendations for books as I'm not as keen on reading as I once was. That being said, I'm not studying English literature and I'm not very exposed to that world (sorry, Law student here) so I imagine it's quite jarring to those who are.
I think it's fair enough for him to keep his gf private - he doesn't owe anyone an explanation of anything, and he keeps the majority of his private life private anyway which tbh I prefer over seeing Jade's younger sibling half naked on her bed or Ruby and Maaaarfa being absolute tosspots.
