I am not familiar with divorce as it's never been in my radar (thankfully) but why should someone be entitled to money 20 yrs after their marriage has finished and the children of that marriage have long been independent individuals?
Also if she has stolen $100k from him, will that be mark against her in the settlement?

they had a long term marriage (10+ years), under California law this can mean lifelong support and they didn't stated anything else in the prenup either.
It's way more common that a judge decides to not obey to this however. Their prenup also states that spousal support ends if you live with someone else for more than 6 months (rather than just getting remarried), which even in Alice's case is not something you should expect will never happen, so 20 years is indeed very generously estimated here. Again, these things are a gamble at the end of the day, hence why most just settle on something in-between the two extremes.
