I could have sworn they were going to use wallpaper in the changing rooms - did I miss it or am I imagining I heard that?
I've just watched and yes they did say they were going to wallpaper the changing rooms.

I felt it was just ok, nothing special. I did feel for them because there was a lot of merchandise. If they had done too much it would look cluttered quickly.

The grey and orange combo is so dreary. The shop name signage just disappears on the back wall. Why plonk a vase of dried flowers and yet more cards on the counter? What’s in the random small hanging thing to the right of the cards on the wall. So many weird design flaws yet this is the winning space in the quarter final.

I’d love to know how many of these makeovers stay in place in the venues featured after the crew and designers have left. I’m guessing the the production company offers a payment for restoring them to their previous state if necessary.

I thought Ajeet would make it to the final. His sofa choice this week was horrible though. I think the budget is so small the design suffers.
Emmerly was good, don't care for her art style but her room was good. The kitchen backsplash and her joinery looked bespoke and luxe compared to the others.

The whole " we want to encourage people to rent" bullshit. Young people can't even afford to buy these stupid tiny New York style apartments. This is all you can expect - to sleep in your damn kitchen. Depressing.
But there’s a bowling alley downstairs, they should be grateful! 🤣🙄

I think Johns colour palette had a more holiday vibe and matched the exterior - like if I'd stayed there my Instagram photos would have all matched. Rita's kitchen was very bland looking. I really liked Johns idea of painting the window frames. His John Lewis range is nothing like his final design though!!
I suppose it made for more exciting tv if anyone can win because I really thought Rita would based on her overall performance.
I also follow Siobhan she really stood out in her series and had a defined style. She's done some really cool things since.
I think.it was on here someone recommended The Block on c5 well I'm addicted! Love seeing so much cash get splashed. I'd love to take part in something like that.

This is the first series of the show I’ve watched. My mum recommended it to me. I’m really enjoying it but I just can’t warm to Michelle at all. My partner works away in the week so I have lots of time in the evening for TV when my little ones are asleep! Does anyone have any recommendations of stand out series of this show that are worth the watch? I keep seeing comments about Banjo (may have spelt that wrong, sorry). Which series was he in? Thanks everyone 😊 X

Definitely the right person to go home. The after design was worse than what was there previously and was reminiscent of the before rooms on Homes Under the Hammer on some horrible property that’s clearly been left to go to rack and ruin and not updated in years. The green ‘textured’ wallpaper looked dated, the wardrobe took up far too much space and did look like a casket, the curtains for the beds were being held up on a wind and a prayer, if anyone actually tried to draw them they’d be down.

I think they had too many clothes in there- really well merchandised shops have far fewer clothes, set out clearly with outfits and colours in mind with a lot of the stock in the back). If they had reduced the number of rails it would have given them more room to think about the jewellery. I know they mentioned that but it was still too cluttered for me and the jewellery shoes took a back seat because of all the painted rails.

Dried flowers because the Scottish woman is obsessed with the dust collectors! To be fair, adding something small on/near the counter is a typical sales tactic - they hope someone might add something at the last minute they’ve spotted whilst waiting to pay.

Craig's was so good that I'd have brought everyone else back to the sofa. Or, to make room them all, that OSB tiered seating from the office challenge to accommodate them all 😂

I think this season really showed how the judging doesn't work. Matt, who was consistent throughout, lost out to Roisin, who was on the sofa a number of times. I don't think it should be judged on just that week, it should be cumulative, throughout the season, because the previous week, for Anthony to leave when it was his first time on the sofa, was also wrong.

Roisin's finished room was her best effort of the season and it did look good but I don't think it was suitable.

Matt's didn't look as good in practice as it did in the diagrams but it was more suitable.

I don't like any of Roisin's La Redoute products, they don't stand out.
