My husband has informed me he's going away for a week for a stag do/birthday so I've decided I'm taking the kids away.
I've never taken them abroad on my own and I'm thinking of France or Spain. Does anyone have any recommendations for something easy to do with 2 under 10s in tow that has a nice beach and isn't too expensive!

Hotel Saski just off the main square is where we stayed and it was such a beautiful hotel in such a good location. The staff were unreal, the room was huge and they had a pool.

Pimiento Argentino is unreal for steak, probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.

honestly it was such a lovely little vibe just walking around the square and then going down the side streets and finding our own places for cocktails and drinks, I was given so many recommendations but I really enjoyed just finding my own little places and couldn’t fault anywhere, I’d such fun there.

So I've just got back from Bergen and it was amazing We got super lucky with the weather - it was just a bit cold and drizzly on the fjord cruise but that was expected.
Just from my own personal perspective - I didn't find it too expensive like everyone says. I don't know if that was just because I didn't drink there but honestly the prices didn't seem wildly different to the UK for meals, it was usually around £18-20 for a main at a nice restaurant. The UK has definitely caught up with them in recent years

Krakow is great for a weekend break. Also highly recommend Pimiento for steak, so good. Are you into craft beer at all? I can definitely dig out some recommendations if so (my husband is a real beer nerd). We stayed in Spatz Aparthotel and although it was a few years ago, end of 2018 ish I think, recent google reviews suggest its still good. Was really easily walkable to places and the staff were lovely and a great breakfast.

Any recommendations for Belfast, Galway or Dublin? Irish road trip incoming at the end of the month! Also any random recommendations around the north/west of Ireland, we'll be covering quite a bit of ground so any tips or places to visit appreciated too

Whatever you do in Dublin, avoid Temple Bar! It's such a tourist trap, tacky, full of drunken groups, and the prices are insane

There's an instagrammer who does really great travel guides for Dublin and other parts of the country, her handle is i_come_undone. She has loads of highlights on different areas.

Has anyone been to the Amalfi coast or Sorrento and which would you recommend the most?

We like a lot of sightseeing, we aren’t really sunbathers. We would also want do a trip out to Pompeii.

I might even combine it with a trip to Rome.

I went to Sorrento the other year. We stayed in Sorrento as a good base for the evening for restaurants, but we got the boat to Capri for the day, and went on an organised tour that went to amalfi, positano and ravello, but it would be easy enough to get to them yourself via bus.

We got the train from Sorrento to Pompeii which was really easy.

We flew into Naples so had a look Naples before getting the train to Sorrento. If flying into Naples then Sorrento is the easiest and quickest to get too

I would 100% recommend avoiding Rome during the summer. It’s unbearable, maybe a day

We’ve been to Florida a few times and it can be tough walking around in 30 plus degree heat, which does put me off going to Rome when it’s hot.

I was thinking of going in early May, or early April.

Spring in Italy is lovely! We’ve done Sorrento/the Amalfi coast in April, just would recommend checking if your trip will go over Easter as things can be closed etc and it makes things a bit more difficult.

Thank you, I think I’m definitely leaning more towards Sorento and then doing trips from there.

This is our second visit. I love it. We are going to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Selingan, and a few nights in a jungle lodge deep in Sabah. It’s a lot of flying from here (we live in Florida) but totally worth it.

Just did a week here, adult only resort in the Algarve. Went half board. It's adults only, short walk to 2 stunning beaches. It's a bit quiet in the evenings but that's what we wanted. Would recommend:
