This is our second visit. I love it. We are going to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Selingan, and a few nights in a jungle lodge deep in Sabah. It’s a lot of flying from here (we live in Florida) but totally worth it.
You’ll have such an ace time, love Malaysia and Sabah in particular, make sure you tell us all about your adventures when back!
I’m just back from Indonesia and while the people were the nicest ever, the traffic was just insane particularly in Bali, didn’t really manage to explore at all, not a patch on Malaysia imo

I'm so bad for always wanting to book holidays, I'm always looking. I said at the end of last year I'd only go on two this year 🤷‍♀️🙉. Already looking for end of next year 😅

Has anyone ever travelled to Thailand and Singapore with an 8 month old?
How did you find it?
We're thinking about going before she's a toddler as thinking the flight may be easier to manage whilst she's not running around 😅

This is me, I drive my husband insane. I just book now and tell him later😂!

I’ve got two abroad holidays this year and three UK.

I’ve already started looking for next year, I’ve got 3 mentally planned.

Haha I always send to my friend 😅
I have/had two UK so far this year (one was house-sitting though so a holiday for me as I'm away from home but was free). I have 3 other UK ones, one for work but I planned it specifically around events I want to go to in the area, just means work pay for hotel/transport. Then two abroad ones this year.
I have one abroad one next year booked and probably gonna book another today 🙈

I'm going to Thailand next year. We are going for 14 nights staying in Phuket. I'm planning on going to an island nearby for a few nights in the middle. Any close by that people recommend?
We've been to Koh PhiPhi before, I loved it there and would go back but not sure whether to try elsewhere, maybe Koh Lanta??
We spent Easter in Koh Lanta and preferred it to Phuket! Phuket was so busy and full of Russians. We stayed in Kata Beach but wish we’d picked one of the quieter parts of the island! You live and learn! Koh Lak is lovely too we went there a few years ago!

We did the direct flight to Singapore last summer and whilst our kids were much older there was a lady across the aisle with a young baby and she coped really well.
She was lucky enough to have a bassinet seat so the baby slept a lot (night flight too) and she was able to pass me a lot of wipes when my daughter (13) threw up!
Just been in Bali and was chatting to a lady by the pool with her 7 month old, she has no problem either but said it was cos her daughter wasn’t mobile yet, her friend with a much more active child (same age) had struggled travelling to Portugal.
I’ve found that Asia generally is a great place for kids, the people are so helpful

I've literally just got back from Bergen and I've rebooked to go next year with my mum as the whole time I kept thinking about how much she'd love it!
In my defence, I have a full year to save up for it :ROFLMAO:

This is literally my partner and I. We have so many trips booked, we went to Thailand/Singapore in March, going to Santa Barbara/LA & Vegas in 2.5weeks, have Spain booked for September, Thailand booked for January and looking at the Maldives for our honeymoon in April. In between all of that is trips to Glasgow, Krakow, London, Devon & Bristol!.. We work hard so we can travel and its pretty much all our money goes on now. We have no kids so we want to do as much as we can while we can. I think the key to life is always having a trip booked.. life is too short to be sat in one place :) x

Would love to hear how this went when you get back?

This is our plan for September 2026 (yes we plan our schedule 3/4 years in advance 🤣) totally agree with your philosophy and I feel so at home on this thread!

Ofcourse! :)

Will put up a post in here and hopefully it will give you some ideas for your trip, if you are like me, you will love just being able to go and nosey on trip advisor and google maps street view until its time for your holiday, I've been up and down the Vegas strip about 100 times telling my partner we have to go here, and here, and here 😂

I think its great to have trips planned, its something to work towards and look forward to and it really helps with that holiday depression you get when you come home from one because you know it's on to the next one.

I love this thread :) ❤

Came back from Dubrovnik and I’ve not enjoyed it. Some of it is related with stress from work and home which probably didn’t help.
Can somebody recommend a short haul flight to somehwere so I can get my groove back.
Not the obv touristy cities like Barcelona, Paris etc
Even better if it’s good for some R&R and a little bit of sightseeing

My favourite is Iceland. It’s an amazing country. Friendly locals, beautiful scenery and lots of sightseeing.
