We did a Havana Varadero trip just last year. My youngest two sons came and they raved about it to all their mates after. Amazing country. Hoping to go back again and travel around next time.Me too!

anything in particular you’d recommend seeing in Havana?
I don't do abroad as I won't fly! We have a week booked with my dad, self catering in Cornwall in June, and a week in Anglesey in September in a hotel.
Off to Porto on Thursday. Hope the weather is good. Been this time of year a few a few times and it’s always been lovely!

In June we are doing the following in America
4 nights in Santa Barbara
Driving to Vegas and spending 4 nights there,
Driving to LA and doing 3 nights there
So just looking some recommendations really on the best places to eat and drink so would anyone have recommendations of places they would recommend?
Would ideally love somewhere to eat/drink and just watch the world go by.
I've heard LA isn't all its cracked up to be but while there is makes sense to go. Going to do Santa Monica Pier and Six flags.
Love getting recommendations and then going onto google maps/street view for a nosey!

I'd go to somewhere like Trailfinders or Travelbag for their advice as they can get probably best deals for a 2 centre holiday and what works re connecting flights

Depends a bit on budget but we loved the tasting menu with wine pairing at Timberyard.
We used Yellow Zebra and they were brilliant.
Aww I love Edinburgh, such a nice city. The National Museum is worth a visit and its free and they have a roof terrace with views of the castle. The Real Mary King's Close is supposed to be really good, but was sadly closed when we were there for maintenance (i think you have to book in advance online). The Royal Yacht Britannia is pretty cool too. If you get a half decent day climb Arthur's Seat, the views are good.
For food, its quite expensive but The Witchery is fabulous. We had a family celebration there last year and it was so great and the service was impeccable. Also love Baba in the Charlotte Square Kimpton Hotel. For more casual/informal, Bread Street Kitchen was great.
Camera Obscura is on the Royal mile, its great, Edinburgh Castle, Hollyrood House, Prince's Street Gardens, the Botanic gardens, Edinburgh Zoo, Edinburgh Dungeons, The Witchery Tour, ( if they still do it) The Dome for afternoon tea (they also have a restaurant as well) there is the tour bus you can hop on and off, the normal bus service is pretty good, you've also got the tram, if you fancy a day or evening at the coast you've got Portobello pizza's on the beach, or take a bus to South Queensferry, for fantastic views of the bridges, there is a good few restaurants there Scotts, Orocco Pier and small pretty shops,
I would definately recommed Mary Kings Close if you like historic experiences! Its in the High Steet opposite St Giles Cathedral. Awesome experience!

Does anyone know about insurance. Usually when I go away with my friend we book the holiday together but get our own insurance, is this ok? Or should we be getting insurance together?

I have just come back from Egypt and Budapest.
Egypt - I've been before but was surprised how safe I felt this time around. We were happy to venture out the resort (in Sharm)
Budapest - If you've never been I highly, highly recommend it! It was fantastic.

I'd check the provisions about when it will pay out if, for example, someone in your party is ill and can't travel. Otherwise, your own is probably sensible.
