The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's new strategist has claimed all white people are “rife with internalised racism and unconscious bias.”
Genevieve Roth said she realised she was “racist” after marrying her black husband.
“Race is an issue in our marriage because as a white woman of privilege, I have racist tendencies written in at a cellular level,” she said.
The comment echoes an observation made by Prince Harry, who said his own upbringing and education meant he had been ignorant about the widespread nature of racism until he met his wife.
Genevieve Roth founded Invisible Hand, a “female-led, diverse team" based in New York that is now advising the couple’s Archewell Foundation.
She has written about how it was only when she married her husband, Jordan, that she realised the world treats her differently to him.
“As a white American woman, I have too often made the mistake of considering racial injustice as something happening to black people that I needed to empathise with and fight for, instead of understanding it as something that I myself was creating and responsible for,” she told Australian social enterprise Primer.
Alaskan-born Ms Roth wrote in Good Housekeeping last year: “It does not matter how many marches I have planned or how many progressive candidates I have campaigned for or how many times I have chanted Black Lives Matter in the streets: I am rife with internalised racism and unconscious bias.
“And to all of the non-black folks reading this, we need to get clear on something: So are you.”
Similarly, Prince Harry told GQ magazine last year: “Unconscious bias… having the upbringing and the education that I had, I had no idea what it was. I had no idea it existed.”
“Sad as it is to say, it took me many, many years to realise it (existed), especially then living a day or a week in my wife’s shoes.”
He said it would take “every single one of us” to instigate change.
Archewell’s partnership with Ms Roth, a former magazine journalist who worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, was announced this week as the foundation revealed a number of staff changes.
Catherine St Laurent, the Sussexes’ chief of staff and executive director of Archewell, has “transitioned to an advisory role” 11 months after starting the job.
She has been replaced by James Holt, the couple’s UK spokesman, while Ben Browning, the Oscar-nominated producer, will be the foundation’s head of content.

Interesting... a quick rummage at Companies House yields records for Peak State: Mental Fitness, a recently formed Ltd Co. with two directors (one with a longer standing record at Companies House with a well established documented company, the other fella associated with company that seems to have folded quite quickly). There is no mention of Hazza in the PS:MF dox so I’m a bit flummoxed how he can invite BuggerUp to work with a relatively small new company where he has no executive responsibilities - unless that’s another job he has yet to be announced?I remember yesterday saying that the Royal Foundation / Heads Together would have to look at how much of their work Prince Chimpo would be 'borrowing' for his paymasters at BetterUP.

Last week, it was suggested to me that Meghan Markle lied about the Archbishop of Canterbury marrying them in a private ceremony three days before the wedding, to get her own back on him!
How true this account is, I’m not sure? I would say it’s about 80% accurate because it came from a trusted journalist who works closely with the Royal Family.
After the wedding ceremony (the real one - not the one three days earlier) the Archbishop of Canterbury had his say. It is clear, he would not have uttered a word without Royal support.
Apparently, he told Meghan Markle that Bishop Curry’s full-throated diatribe which lasted 13 minutes was an embarrassment to the Royal Family. “A Gospel singing, happy-clappy ceremony was not appropriate for a royal Wedding in St George’s Chapel, and an embarrassment to the Royal Family.”
The look on the faces of the Royals was there for all to see. They were bemused, and struggled to keep their laughs hidden from the TV cameras.
We can only guess how Meghan Markle reacted to the Archbishop’s reprimand. From what we now know about her, I would imagine Meghan Markle accused him of being racist.
She knew that if she lied to Oprah Winfrey about the Archbishop Justin Welby marrying them before the big day, it would make life difficult for him. But she could have had no idea how much it would have hurt him.
Markle has caused him to become a gibbering wreck! The Archbishop has been hiding away, refusing to speak to the Press, and refusing to put the record straight. The phones at his Lambeth Palace residence have been on lockdown. He has refused to answer emails. Posts on the Archbishop’s facebook page have been deleted. He has refused calls for him to appear on BBC news programmes to clear the air.
Yesterday saw the first eight years completed in his role as the Archbishop of Canterbury, and it was the first time he has had to employ staff at the Lambeth Palaces offices to shield him from the Press. Meghan Markle has dropped him from a great height, and he doesn’t know how to cope with it. It is something he has never had to deal with before.
People are now saying the Archbishop of Canterbury is refusing to tell the truth! He has been accused of hiding behind his altar, and calls for him to resign are resounding around the Church of England. The Church that Her Majesty the Queen is the head of. A double hit from Markle!
It would appear that nobody is safe when Ms Markle decides it’s pay-back time. The list is lengthening by the hour! Her own family, the Queen, Prince William, Catherine, Prince Charles, the Press, Piers Morgan, and now the Archbishop of Canterbury – all have felt the full force of the spiteful actress.

I had an immediate vision of her blowing up into a massive narcissistic rage and hitting him over the head with a heavy vase or something. I know it sounds like something off a farfetched soap opera but stranger things have happened.
I realise that talk of someone’s demise is serious and not something to joke about or speculate on, but I have had a very, very bad feeling that this will all end in tragedy for a long time now.
