I remember reading a well sourced piece that said the car crash in Paris that killed Di was partly the fault of the security team that Dodi hired. The Royals have amazing security which is all former SAS and army blokes who really, really know what they are doing. But Dodi had the pick of your bog standard roster of security firms, some are good and some are frankly crap (as with any service provider, you get Waitrose ones and Aldi ones). The security team on the night in question had been drinking and urged the driver Henri to try to do avoidant driving, mainly by speeding. The Royal security would never have suggested this on the route in question and especially not in the tunnel under the Seine where fast avoidant driving was very dangerous. And we all know how that turned out.
I think the same is happening here: Haz and Megs obviously don't have the creme de la creme (ie royal security) anymore and they either can't afford, or are too stupid to pick, a really good security firm of the sort who looks after proper A List celebs. So they go with the idiots they had this week, who wound up the paps and drove dangerously.
But rather than fire their security and invest in a decent firm, they chose to cry and lie about it and try to bully the Met Police in the courts.
