In TRG video upthread she has done some serious research! This is a screenshot from the video. Andrew and M disappeared below deck for 3 days. Could this be the 'secret' that M is threatening KC with and why he is so soft with them?

If this is true, I think it's more embarrassing for H&M than for anyone else.

could you recommend me some artists or maybe a youtube playlist or internet radio station? i love Indian film music. i also love classical bhajan and devotional music. i just listen at random, i'm awful with names and most of the times hear a song and then can't find it again.

I don't follow a particular YouTube channel or playlist. Some day some song will strike, I'll play it on youtube music, and the app makes up a nice playlist for me. Mostly the more commonly-aired songs, but sometimes there's a rare gem. Last night I started with 'Ye raatein yeh mausam nadi ka kinaara' by Kishore da and Asha Bhonsle. Really nice, soft playlist followed.

For artistes, you can most easily find songs by Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, Hemant Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Mukesh, RD and SD Burman, Talat Mahmood, Manna Dey, Shamshad Begum.

You can start your search with terms like Hindi film songs from the 1950s. Doordarshan has a long-running show Rangoli hosted by Hrishita Bhatt which showcases old songs - you might find a few episodes online. India-Forums used to have a webcast named Retro Cafe a few years ago - I did the cover art for them a couple of times. Don't know if they've kept the archives or not though.

I don't really listen to bhajans etc, but Anuradha Paudwal used to sing those a lot. Mum had a few casettes that I'll have to look for, but the few I can remember are: Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Shyam Teri Bansi Pukaare Radha Naam, Tu Pyaar Ka Sagar Hai (performed this with my class in school), a few more that we used to sing in school - search for Hindi film devotional songs - quite a long list.

There are an awful lot of deluded idiots out there. Charles and Diana divorced in 1996 iirc, so there was no way she would have ever been Queen, but this fact is too complicated for some people to understand!

A lot of this stems from that interview where she stated:

"I'd like to be the queen of people's hearts" *bats eyelashes*

I'm old enough now to see how manipulative that statement was.

Granted, at the time she was trying to persuade the govt and RF to let her begin her roving international philanthropy thing. So she was bending over backwards to be helpful and essentially suck up to Blair, HM and the PoW. She had friendly dinners with Charles, pulled out of the Rock & Royalty book to demonstrate respect for the monarchy, and kissed Charles on the cheek in front of cameras at Wills’ carol concert to show they’d moved past the hard feelings. And she’d told them she wouldn’t stand in the way of him marrying Camilla.

I’m not saying for a second she’d not have been privately furious when/if marriage happened and even more irate if Camila became eventual queen. But the fact remained she needed HM’s permission to be out representing Britain on the global stage so I think she’d have mostly kept playing nice at least in public. Sparold would have had his evil stepmother far earlier had Di not been killed.

oh, i didn't know that. i know the part about being an ambassador of sorts, her cordial relations with Charles post divorce and the Versace book and subsequent fall-out with him and Elton. do you have any book recommendations on the subject?

To be perfectly honest I think everyone in the world knows PA and Fungus were quite happy with an open marriage/dalliances etc and it clearly doesn’t bother them. If Smeg and PA did bump ugliest the only person who would have been horrified by this would possibly be the late queen because when it comes to extra martial affairs not a lot can be said by anyone else.

Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte and Tom Jones (itv) all portray georgian UK as 50% upperclasses black. Its bizarre. Theres a spurious claim that queen Charlotte was black. At best she was several generations mixed race if at all.

These series aren't meant to be historically accurate
For this reason I'm happy to see a cast with so many black actors, they really bring a different attitude to the characters

Have these shows like Bridgerton changed history to suit their narrative. Isn't there a spin off called Queen Charlotte.
I think some historians say she was a poc and others say the African connection to Portugal was too far back.

My Step Dad's father was American Italian and his mother was Italian, but they think there may have been some Portuguese somewhere because of colouring and features.

Some Italians are a bit darker than olive skinned. May be the Portuguese back then had similar tanned skin.

There are numerous portraits of Queen Charlotte, painted from life, and she wasn’t black. She may have had some black ancestry but she was whiter than Smeg. It’s just another incidence of the ‘blackwashing’ that’s going on.

I am confused! (Doesnt take too much at times!)

I understand that it is illegal to hack phones, but is it actually illegal to pay anyone for information? It might be immoral and tasteless, but is it actually illegal?

PS Ive always said I am hopeless with secrets, because Ive always believed that honesty is the best policy. most of these so called secrets are so petty as to be almost irrelevant. OK gossip may end up hurting peoples feelings, but at the end of the day sharing 'secrets' doesnt usually cause or cover up illegal acts!
eg If people had shared a bit more gossip about abusers like Saville, earlier, then a lot of later pain and suffering might have been avoided!
