My husband gets asked practically every time we go into town shopping.

"American or Canadian?"

And when he says the former, we usually get told all about their Fly-Drive to Florida 10 years ago. :p

Occasionally he gets a bit of anti-American stuff hurled at him, but thankfully it's rare. Most people are just curious when they hear the accent.
I went to America once and was constantly asked /told I was an Aussie 😀 I would just say ‘yup- wanna come to my barbi? I’m London/Essex and common as muck - not offended in the least - although I found when meeting Americans they would say I’m xxxx from xxxx which saves you asking ‘where you from’? so good opening line from them and saves having to ask - I might start saying I’m Carpe from carpe land - have you been there? 🤣

I don't think Meghan's visit to Indianapolis was a success as it has hardly been mentioned on Twitter. In fact I don't think it went the way that Meghan expected it to either as Women's Fund didn't promote or mention anything about the event despite the fact that they were the hosts, the venue looked far too small, the event definitely wasn't a sell-out as there seemed to be many empty tables from the pictures that we have seen, the food looked boring and bland as it seemed like the only food that the guests had to eat was chocolate sweets and a salad and the pictures of Meghan outside of the venue showed her looking angry towards the people that she was with.

I used to believe in never complain, never explain.

But in a world full of propagandists, the royal family has to go on the offense. Lady Hussey didn't say or do anything racist, and I'm Asian. I dislike minorities with chips on their shoulders, they're totally insecure and detracts from legitimate instances of discrimination (the denial of rights, and of freedoms).

The King and the Wales' of course cannot stoop in the same low level as the Sussexes, but surely there can be counter-propagandists to refute such accusations, through unofficial channels.

At this moment we need politically left leaning people to stop peddling accusations to the British royal family, since most of it is coming from that side of the political sphere. Whether people want to admit it or not, the Sussexes has politicised the British royal family in the court of public opinion.

The Sussexes are being peddled as the beacons of leftism anti-racism, and the Wales' are accused of being the bad White people.

It's bullshiete.

Ngozi Fulani dressed head to toe in African cultural outfit, of course she was asked where she was from, her outfit clearly threw a curved ball!

I think the safest directive for the Palace to give to all hosts at royal events is. - unless it’s a gathering with international attendees representing different nations, never, ever ask a black person where they’re from. Better safe than sorry. ,

I was just thinking. With this latest uproar, and Lady H promptly resigning, isn't it strange how Hazza didn't have to resign in disgrace from the army after what he said?

And the "You don't sound black" remark to the comedian.

And how he's not being retroactively "cancelled" for it, like what happens to many other public figures.

He's even getting an award for standing up to "structural racism", when he's actually said far worse to a POC than Lady H.

It's weird and disturbing.

During their time in Boston, the royal couple will also visit Roca, a youth development organization in Chelsea, and Greentown Labs in Somerville. Other stops include Kate dropping by the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, while William is scheduled to take a tour of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Dorchester on Friday.

The visit will culminate with William and Kate attending the Earthshot Prize, a star-studded awards ceremony at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway on Friday. The Boston event marks the second time that the environmental award will be given to a group of innovators.

The event at City Hall Plaza could draw thousands of people, Shelton said. It will be open to the public and feature speeches from Wu; Prince William; Ambassador Caroline Kennedy; and Mariama White-Hammond, Boston’s chief of environment, energy, and open space.

Thankfully, Shelton said, “the plaza was built for” large crowds”

BIB read it and weep Smegzy 🤣🤣

I wonder if Sistah Space is open to trans women? Do they have a website? Does it say?

This person works with the African and the Caribbean community, but they are offended when asked about her African ancestry, and if I recall her answer is "I don't know" because they didn't keep records. Shouldn't she be more concerned that she cannot even identify her roots rather than be mad that someone asked her about it?

None of it makes any sense.

Oh jeez, what a day...

The lady should have been more careful. People who work for the BRF need to be ultra-sensitive mainly when in public events. That said, there was a triumphal viciousness in the way things where brought to the light, denouncing the real intentions of the "victim". That the mouthpiece Scooby Doo joined so eagerly the conversation, I think, shows that there might have been some planning to the whole thing.

Also, note that there are no pictures of the room where MeMe spoke last night. So I think it is fair to believe it was half empty. And diversion from that flop is welcome.

The video call with mother and son, is to contradict the "there's no kids theories". Showing again that Smeg spends the whole day reading us (Hi, there, you C- Actress). The child looks adorable, but far from being happy. And who on earth uses "Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex" as a screen name. And not as a joke! *the* duchess. Jeez, control your ego, woman!

I think this is what we will have in the following months: sloppy attempts to accuse the BRF of racism, coordinated with MeMe episodes of "greatness". The stupid thing of it all, and where I get really angry at the Sugar Wokists, is that the noise they make does NOTHING to help those who really suffer from racism and cast a shadow on brilliant and impactful initiatives such as the Earthshot Awards.

I think insults are a bit like that definition of porn…I know it when I see it. I can tell by the person's demeanor, the context, the delivery. And I can tell when it’s social awkwardness or just curiosity.

There is way too much artifice and exaggeration in this selective empathy of the Woke. Every freaking thing is just an unbearable soul destroying moment. Really?

My dear brother-in-law was Jewish…he got me a job one summer when I was home from University at a Cabana Club where I was the only Christian. Some of the members had a name they called me by…that referenced someone not of their faith. Depending on the context, I guess it could be an insult or so my Sister explained. But, in my case, I felt it was always used with humor and sometimes with a compliment.

I took it that way…not that I was being demeaned or ostracized. It had no life-changing implications.

0ne member once asked me, after she had a few cocktails, how I could say that I believed in God. This came out of nowhere, while I was bringing her another drink. This woman was always very kind to me In other situations. I guess I could have called the local newspaper and played victim, since I was lowly staff and she was a wealthy member, but, as they say…I took it as the “tequila talking.” My own family, in those days would have been embarrased by ME…being so overly sensitive.

We were brought up to give others the benefit of the doubt. Years later, my husband’s career required me to attend many events where small talk with strangers was required. Some people are awkward at it. Some, ask the same thing of you-year after year. I hated being asked year after year…if my daughters were married yet, how were my (dead) parents?…but recognized people were…trying.

I sometimes just lied and said my parents were fine to save embarrassment. .lol

It is commonplace in the Woke culture to lay in wait…to ensnare someone and proclaim great emotional damage. It’s a political power play here in the US, home of Jussie Smollet. No one gets ticked off for the moment anymore…OMG their whole psyche is supposedly irretrievably damaged.

Lookey, lookey, Now this ‘victim warrior” has internationally humiliated an old woman, has the RF groveling to her victimhood and demeaning a once cherished friend…and has given Markle the cover she needs to accept this racism award.

Big mistake. It won’t end well…or end here.

The old lady should have issued an apology…and invited The Tragic Victim to leave her fainting couch and come to tea to discuss the situation. Like Obama's ‘beer summit.’
