I know he has behaved appallingly but I can't help but think that he is trapped in a mentally abusive relationship. I feel like such an anti-feminist blaming her but this is literally the first time he's been properly away from her and outside of her control. No doubt he has seen all the PR coming from her and her lack of sensitivity/respect on the day of the funeral. He will also have seen his family again, in a normal environment without someone in his ear screaming racism/sexism/misogyny/bullying.. etc. I'd imagine they had a sit down with him- careful with what they said but responding to all the bullshit in the interview and giving him the facts. She seems to have a serious hold on him- the "suicidal ideation" and all of that. I actually think this could be the first time he has come up for air. I don't think he knew half the stuff she was going to say in that interview- and definitely not the race thing. The stuff he said in the interview was bad, but he just sounded like an entitled brat who had his money taken away. She sounded vindictive and clearly had an agenda- character assassination and destruction. he actually seemed emotional talking about some of it. I hate emotional abusers- they are the worst kind and he fucked up by marrying someone who lives on the opposite side of the world. His kids will be his world and she will enjoy taking them from him.

I’ve been amused this afternoon thinking about how HFEW screwed herself over so badly...with her Diana fixation she tried to make herself Diana 2.0 but didn’t seem to realise that only William could confer that kind of status on his wife. HFEW probably researched Diana like mad, but didn’t bother researching the role of ‘lesser royals’, so she thought she was very clever nabbing herself the ‘other’ son. It probably never even occurred to her that Harry’s status was much lower and would continue to sink with successive Cambridge children. Even Prince Louis is higher in the line of succession. I wonder at what point the penny dropped that she’d backed the wrong horse. I would have paid real money to have seen her face when she realised. I bet she wouldn’t have gone through with the wedding if she’d realised at the start.

I don't think your grandfather's funeral is a normal environment. Also, he has to be held responsible for what he has done and also what he has not done. I believe he was given several chances to stay but 'they' chose to go because he is led by his balls because he really has no brains.

I know what you mean and yeah, it wasn’t normal circumstances but I suppose I mean he was in familiar territory with people who have no agenda (other than no more interviews, obviously ). He just looks so trapped or something- he’s completely cut it from everyone but her. He’s a grown adult and between Nazi costumes and everything else- I don’t think that much of him. I don’t think he had much control over the editing- genuinely don’t think she would have let her truth be edited out either. Yeah, he’s a fool and selfish and entitled- I just don’t see that same nasty that I get off her.
