I never understood the hysteria around Diana’s death. Like everyone, I was shocked she had died and sad for her son’s. (Also Prince Charles because I knew they were going to blame him in some way)
But I never felt the way I was seeing people on TV behaving, and none of my family or friends felt that way either.
It was a very strange time, and what was even stranger was the way people were hating on the RF while they were in Balmoral, but as soon as they went back to London and did the walkabout thing, everyone was “comforted” and the anti-RF sentiment immediately de-escalated. Weird
I also remember people reaching out to try to grab PW (he looked soooo like Diana back then).
And people projecting their feelings onto William and Harry must have been horrific for them, so I can kind of understand what Harry means when he says that.
