I was refused a water birth purely because my BMI was too high as I am overweight, otherwise a picture of health with a perfect pregnancy !
Unlike Grace though I wasn't in denial and accepted it was because I am a fatty šŸ¤£
I second this. Im automatically classed as high risk because my BMI is over 35. No other risk factors and first baby. I've been told I will have to give birth on labour ward and I'm having extra scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks which I'm grateful for as others don't get this. As soon as I saw Grace posting today (assuming she's 28 weeks this week) I had a feeling she was going for that extra scan and her consultant post proves it. She would of been told from her first scan that she was high risk and would have been told by her 20 week that she has to have extra scans and see a consultant (presuming she's high risk for BMI). Stop lying and be honest to show the reality of plus size pregnancy!! Many women go through it and she's making it seem shameful!! The only shameful thing about this situation is her ignorance.

And yes B belly is a common thing for plus size women who originally have a larger belly before pregnancy. A harder rounded top, goes in by the belly button and flabbier bottom to the bump, generally does get harder all round at full term but depends on the woman. Grace already had a popped belly at the top before pregnancy (as seen in youtube) so this probably explains why she seems larger at 28 weeks...Grace is larger than me, but I'm 30 weeks and my bump doesn't appear as large as hers, but everyone carries differently I suppose!
It must be completely down to the consultant and the trust then, my bmi is 34 (at time of getting pregnant) and I made a point of asking my consultant if I would still be able to have a normal birth and even water birth if everything goes to plan and she said yes, even sent a letter to my GP saying the same. Iā€™m getting extra scans which I knew about when I was 14weeks as I had consultant appointment, my scans are due to the surgery I had (gastric sleeve) so they just want to make sure baby grows big enough. And I still have to have a gestational diabetes test, so sheā€™s guaranteed to have to have the test

Any other thread name suggestions? We need to make a new thread now.

Edit: Iā€™m going to also suggest a non-rhyming thread title, too:

Her latest stories when she said ā€œI wasnā€™t going to share thisā€ really annoyed me, she shares everything else, why should there be a question mark over the bits that arenā€™t sunshine and rainbows?

ā€˜The doctor was unfriendly and hated her jobā€™ - no she was probably tired, fed up of long hours and working with people who think crystals heal all problems.

Honestly I would dislike her as a patient you can imagine she would know best and tell you she read something somewhere and acting like she is an expert in all things baby.

She is such an ungrateful moany cow!!!

she needs to start being a bit more respectful of antenatal teams as they are the ones looking after her.

she thought she was so low risk and it was the CONSULTANT who she obviously knew something was wrong, nothing to do with her guessing something wasnā€™t right šŸ™„

she needs to face reality and realise pregnancy isnā€™t all rainbows and butterflies, healthy woman have issues all the time, let alone someone like her.

Instead of being a moany cow she should be thankful she has the NHS and the services they provide.

her story has reallly pissed me Off this morning.

Smug and self absorbed as usual. It's because she knows her body, she knew something was wrong, not because her pregnancy is monitored by a reinforced team because she is high risk. Lol

Anyone else struggling to conceive and wondering WHY THE duck YOU CANT GET PREGNANT WHEN SHE CAN. Maybe I need to start manifesting and detoxing my vaginašŸ˜³
Awwww Iā€™m so sorry! Iā€™m not struggling to conceive but absolutely feel your pain and think Graceā€™s whole ā€œpregnancy manifestationā€ spiel just adds to other women feeling miserable about themselves. I loathe her lol. Hang in there! Xx

Her stories have made me really angry. She is so entitled and self-important. She didnā€™t know that anything was wrong otherwise she would have said so before the appointment. It was a standard appointment with her consultant and the consultant realised that something was wrong. Even the midwives told her a few days ago to eat leafy greens and a burger-clearly they told her she was anaemic but she didnā€™t want to believe it or admit to it. Also, another dig about Lee not being able to be there.

Just came across these tweets. Funny how she trusts the midwives (3 year degree) when they are telling her to eat more (iron).

I hate this narrative that some people give that doctors basically know nothing about nutrition and they are just idiots when it comes to weight because they only do 3 months study on it... doctors spend years and years of study learning as much as they possibly can about HOW TO KEEP YOU ALIVE until they specialise in their chosen field. To sneer like that on someone who is literally there to keep you and your baby safe, when they potentially making less money than her who sits in her flat taking photos of herself, is disgusting IMO.

Absolutely nothing about what she said on her instastories added up - nothing. Would love to hear from someone with actual medical knowledge on this but the whole thing sounds off.

'Know your body!' - well clearly she didn't. The appointment wasn't at her request, it was a routine appointment and luckily that unfriendly consultant picked up on things that weren't right. I think it's also a really dumb and tone-deaf time to betaking jabs at anyone in medical profession right now.

Lee brought her snacks and a room spray?! Are you allowed to be spraying stuff about in hospital, especially during covid??

Thread suggestion: Grace F Victory, manifesting quack, loves a snack.

She's so full of tit. She talks a lot about "breaking the chain" with the trauma passed into her through her ancestors but she will 100% add to it with her children.
Now imagine if she has a girl, and in 20 years time turns out to be mentally and physically healthy and pretty much everything Grace thinks /preaches she is but she's not. She will drag her. She would totally be the epitome of a toxic mum.

How has she never seen a black surgeon? Literally wtf
I was wondering if she was talking about the "dance" and she says it's her first time in hospital.
She's a blatant idiot anyway, so ignorant and acts as she knows everything.

So she still wonā€™t say the words ā€˜high risk?ā€™ They donā€™t just assign consultants because youā€™re fat, its because you are HIGH RISK you absolute idiot.

she is insinuating that the doctors are being fatphobic towards her but thatā€™s not the case. If anything did go wrong then she would complain she didnā€™t get the care as a fat black woman šŸ™„
I absolutely agree that Grace is in denial about her weight, however it is statistically proven that Black women do not have access or receive the correct care for their case. Medical racial bias is a real thing and itā€™s dangerous to be flippant and dismissive of such a fact.
