Right on cue - the convoluted story of how they got him. He was going to be purchased by another couple, but they got pregnant and didn't want him, so we had no choice but to save him!! Translation: they bought him impulsively off Pets4Homes.

Also, it's actually quite a bad sign that the Ziggy apparently originated from the same breeder that they got Zeus from. Dogs from good breeders generally don't end up on sites like Pets4Homes when the owners are giving them up - breeders that actually care about their dogs usually have a contract/agreement that says if the owners can't look after the dog, they have to return it to the breeder.

That whole story sounds fake, dogs of the same breeds look alike, ifs not like people who look like their relatives is it

Depends I guess, especially with cats you can sometimes tell. Obviously not for sure but there are often similarities and common features But yeah her story is totally made up.

I’m sorry this is completely BATSHIT. If Ziggy came with any paperwork at all, which you’d expect a puppy to even if you get it off Pets4Homes, she’d have seen the breeder’s details? Or the breeder is so dodgy nothing came with him at all? It’s very much screaming puppy farm/tit backyard breeder.

If the breeder is talking about Zeus’ parents, then they won’t be maltipoos anyway, they’ll be a maltese and a poodle, so unlikely to look like Ziggy! They could be talking about another dog they have but if not then it’s complete nonsense!

…. is this the same dog…? Looks v similar with that white bit on its head?

part of me is more inclined to believe her, not that i think she’s ever ‘rescued / regimes’ a dog bc buying an older puppy is NOT the same. but i feel like for aesthetics she wouldn’t have got another dog that looks exactly the same haha

scratch that, it’s hard to find other colour puppies, there’s some available to go home yesterday in london on pets for homes,

what she means is that one became available bc a couple found out they were pregnant, and she’s just gone and bought a puppy lol. she could have rescued one from many tears who have loads, they’d have probably adgifted her anyway 😳

I looked on Pets4Homes before I saw your post and was about to share the same thing. I do think it's the same puppy (or at least one of the pups in this slideshow): https://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classi...king-for-new-homes-london/?pmg_source=profile

In which case she paid £2,500 for him. It's the craziest thing to me that people pay this money for a poodle mix bred by Sue down the road who doesn't give two shits about breeding for health/temperament, when there's ethical breeders charging less than that. I don't know why she bothers putting on a show to her followers, acting like she is doing all this research about dogs and the best breed to get, when she ends up impulse buying a puppy off Pets4Homes anyway. It's like she's asking to be called out!

(also, would also like to point out the peak intelligence of buying a puppy from the same bloodline as her current dog which has severe separation anxiety and constant stomach issues)

But she'd have to wait patiently with an ethical breeder which is a skill beyond ol' Grace.

Isn’t the first rule about buying a puppy is seeing the puppy’s parents? I don’t think it’s illegal to not see them but from working at Trading Stabdards, not seeing the puppy’s parent is a huge red flag to investigate

Not only does it blow greg’s tale of woe out the water (all three pups were available, it wasn’t just a woeful single one who fell through the gaps), I think the biggest red flag for me is this breeder’s profile on pets4homes. There’s that one photo in the slideshow with I think six maltese in the bg, which seems like a crazy amount of the same breed dogs for someone who clearly isn’t a specialist breeder. The worst thing though are the adverts she has out for her “stud dogs” who she’s clearly farming out to all and sundry (including Sue down the road) for a quick buck. One of them looks like it got mated with a witch who looks far too old to be having a litter.

And greg is dumb enough to buy from someone like this. What a surprise. Not.

I had to laugh when I saw the phrase 'the woman who owns Ziggy's parents' because I have seen influencers use this as a euphemism for 'breeder' on multiple occasions

I didn't even clock this but you're so right! I had to read the post several times before I understood it and realise now that's because she made the world's most convoluted sentence to avoid using the word 'breeder' at all costs.

I guess deep down she knows she hasn't gone down the responsible route, given that she can't given say the word breeder and feels the need to spin a cute story. We all know that if she'd gone to an actual ethical breeder there'd be a paragraph about it on her stories and she'd be saying that she got him from a breeder with her chest. If you find it uncomfortable to even admit you got him from a breeder, maybe reflect on why that is 🤷‍♀️

Isn't that almost the exact sob story she had for buying Ziggy? Pretty sure it was couple adopted puppy then something happened so they had to "rehome" it.

It always makes me lol as an owner of a rescue. I have her advertisement. I went to the shelter. I purchased. I have doggo. There is zero doubt. This situation makes me laugh- clearly she went to a mass breeder or via a mass breeder

Sorry but her whole story is such bullshit, she wanted another dog and lo and behold there just HAPPENED to be one in the exact breed she wanted that needed ‘rescuing’? Nah

GUYS she has RECEIPTS you can't catch her out

Except of course that we all called it and it's total BS. More than anything it's the fact that she spends so little time with Ziggy - what does she do to make his life fun? She is only interested in him as a status symbol/ baby substitute rather than a dog who has doggy needs. Getting another pup when you already have one with separation anxiety issues is erm... Not going to solve the problem that's for sure.

FYI I thought it was too minor to mention but Greg has annoyed me here- I was listening to BBC sounds podcast 'the new gurus' the episode on productivity gurus (and the bs they shill) features a snippet of Greg talking as an example.

I hope ziggy gets on with the new dog, hopefully it is nice company for him while he is alone/shipped off to friends every timeshe is away

It honestly really really irritates me. She could rehome a rescue dog and brag about the charity to her 1m followers. Even donate a lot to the charity. But she’s chose the insta prop designer puppy twice. Wonder if this puppy will be all over insta for a few weeks and then thrown at any person she knows just like she did with ziggy

It really reduces my opinion of any organisation that enlists people like Grace to give life advice tbh - at least the department that does it. Esp when it is a professional, reputable outfit

the only possible justification I can see is them wanting to attract a new audience tbh

Grace's story: "Hey guy's me and Almond rescued this 12 night mini break to Mykonos from a couple who were going to use it to set up a lamb skinning business so we asked our person who orders travel if we could jump in instead and we ABLE TO!!"
