Ive started watching the Irish version and there is a person on there who in the first episode I believe mentioned that she was pansexual and then went on to say she was told she couldn’t do drag as she was a woman which wasn’t technically true because she doesn’t identify as a woman. It has pretty much just become her identity.
As for the rest of the show I’m not a mad fan of the judges and the host is ok. Ive only seen 3 episodes so may change my idea. Was really confused where they were based as it looks like a derelict factory in some shots

Yes i remember her- she tried to explain pansexuality as "being attracted to hearts not parts" which stuck in my head.
Only watched a couple of episodes of the irish one so far but Mauras not too bad a presenter

I’m still annoyed at that guy at the end of the episode!! Like I said such a wasted opportunity somebody else could of had, I LOVEEE makeup and creating and I’d die it I got on the show! But he was just so salty and bitter he was picked and ruined it for himself and essentially embarrassed himself.

This show has gone super woke or something. Who cares about their pronouns and all the gender crap? And the way everyone always has to have a vulnerability or problem they’re bravely battling with and/or a dark time they’ve been struggling through… oh whatever. You’re not special, that’s life, just get on with the makeup.

Can’t believe that idiot wrote “queer power 4ever” on her face. Really hitting a home run for the cause there matey. How incredibly rude and childish.
I think it might just be how young they are and that this is what young creative people are like right now. I feel so old lmao when I was young and had a creative bunch of friends we defined ourselves with punk/goth etc and made a big deal out of it all. I don’t think we’d have scrawled “holiday in Cambodia” all over a model’s face while we had a tantrum, though. That seems unique to lil Charlie.

Yes I’m sure you’re right, I feel old too! I just
don’t remember being quite so wrapped up in my own suffering, or at least if I was I didn’t have that total identification with it and willingness to share it in public.

Yes maybe it’s a young creative thing and I guess the producers prompt them to come up with something “dark”. But 4 seasons in I’m not sure how much more “I always felt like I was different / didn’t fit in” I can take…. maybe they’ll start to notice that feeling like you were different actually makes you exactly the same as everyone else!

I wish the 2nd challenge wasn’t just face painting. I liked the first series where they were given briefs of fashion shows etc. I wish it was about makeup and not face painting with prosthetics.
(Plus there seems to be an obligatory drag week which seems pointless because unless you want to be a drag Queen/king you wouldn’t apply that sort of makeup because they do it themselves? Also I’m not a fan of drag queens so that plays a part)

She was proper crap too. The worst one in the first episode was the natural makeup for the gym brand - those purple eyebrows! What was that woman thinking? Then again, Dom has pink and green eyebrows occasionally.

The host's accent is fab - she is the most Irish person I have ever heard. Her body is absolutely fit as.

One thing I noticed from the Irish version was that the MUAs might be able to do amazing art work and prosthetics but they absolute suck when it comes to doing a red carpet look, which is probably the most common makeup they will have to do (unless they seriously specialise).

She has an incredible figure! Her accent is what I imagine when someone talks about an Irish accent. I don’t know if the Irish tattlers can tell us but is it a harsh or ‘common’ accent? It sounds quite strong to me.

Catching up on the first episode of the new series now. Does anyone else find it strange when the MUAs come dressed to the nines?

I really enjoyed the challenge this week of circus makeup. I saw this video of Lisa Eldridge doing makeup for a ballet dancer and I wish they had this as a challenge!
