My parents (the sort of lefties that never married because marriage was an archaic exchange of property) had multiple les friends with children when I was growing up (I'm 28, for context). All are well-adjusted adults now! I am too, maybe...I hope one day, to settle down, get married to the woman (can I still say that!?) of my dreams, and have kids. However, one of my concerns is what will my children think when they go to school and not only be taught lessons regarding gender identification and tolerance, but also how they will cope with having two women as their parents?
Years ago it was traditional that kids just had a male and female as parents; and over the last 10 years or so kids have come to accept same-sex parents; but I wonder how they will cope when they are told that there will be no such thing as male/female, him/her etc. but they must accept the universal transgender view where pronouns no longer identify anyone, and that they themselves should no longer see themselves as boys or girls.
Not sure if I'm explaining this very well because quite honestly it gives me a headache just thinking about it.
That said, I have the same concerns as you about what the outside world might be saying when/if I have my own children. In a way the 'hateful terfs' of the internet give me hope that we might not be stuck on this path? Ugh, I don't know.
