Transgender awareness week who cares? I mean, gender bending and dysphoria has been around time immemorial. It’s only the last few years there’s been transetters and a push for anything other than TWAW being classified as hate speech.

The most cynical side of me believes it’s nothing more than a power play and money-making exploit.

Possibly, but of course Google have to show their wokeness for all their worth, otherwise they'll get slammed on SM.

Moreover, there will probably be complaints on Twitter suggesting the awareness week should be a month instead, just like Black History Month!

And thinking about it, wasn't this covered in April's les Visibility Week, which spoke up not just for the usual LGBs but trans as well? I wonder if this trans event will recognise LGBs?

agreed wouldn't you invest in transhumanism ? life long drugs? srs, potential uterus implementation experiment? authorities, schools pushing this and it spreading with social contagion, this would raise the value of said investment - a real cash cow I'd think.

Not "stupid" at all. Just par for the course I guess. The Ts &Qs probably see LGBs as no longer special groups deserving of further attention/awareness.. We have become part of the New Normal, and therefore can be sidelined/dismissed/criticised etc.

It’s 100% a money making scheme, to me if we are meant to be normalising thing such as being transgender ect then why have awareness weeks/months for them? that’s not normalising it at all?

Fortunately, where I live in the Lake District we're a little behind the times with all this virtue signalling gender politics malarky. The nearest metro city of any possible significance is about 50 odd miles away. But when I used to live in and around places like Birmingham and Manchester you were always guaranteed such things were hugely popular, especially in the respective Gay Quarters.

But where I live now is like being in a time-warp of some 20 or 30 years ago where the old gender traditions are still at the forefront, and you get the feeling you would be gossiped about if you came out as a LBG; perhaps even ostracised!

That said, I don't have to put up with all this trendy Trans crap, which seems to be dominating those very same cities and more besides.

I am on a group for Endometriosis, a while back, there was a post that said "hey ladies" and one of the members commented on it saying we shouldn't use "ladies, girls" etc as it isn't inclusive to "people" who get endometriosis. It took all my strength to not say something. Well, a few days ago the mod on the page posted saying she knows there have been conflicting views and that we want to be inclusive but this page is for "women" with endo. I was like and said how jarring it was to see that we were told not to say "ladies" or "girls" and that we shouldn't be erasing one minority (woman) to make another (trans) feel welcome. Stop stepping on us. Well, then one member replied to me saying that it isn't just women that get periods and that the reproductive organs are not male/female, and the phrase "terf" was thrown around. Another said we should use the term "endowarriors" instead and I replied saying it is hypocritical to erase women's phrases to make someone else feel more included. That person then replied saying "not to use attacking words like "hypocritical." LOL, duck off. Stop policing what I say. Thankfully, more people agreed with my comments than not.

I wanted to scream. Well, one of them then went and set up an "inclusive" endo page for trans/gender fluid. Good riddance.

This is where their hypocrisy really stands out: they want inclusion into other "minority" groups, such as LGBs, and want to dictate what is said therein. However, when they create their own groups, I wonder how many LGBs are inviting in for the sake of the same inclusivity? And even if we are allowed in, can we say what we want or will we be kicked out for being bigots?

Some great news today - Freddie McConnell has had the application for appeal to the Supreme Court rejected (this was about whether he who gave birth but is now 'a man' can be registered as 'father' on the child's birth cert. The claim that it breaches his article 8 rights apparently isn't an arguable point of law.
Now just hoping for a good outcome with Keira Bell!

The claim that it breaches his article 8 rights apparently isn't an arguable point of law.
Now just hoping for a good outcome with Keira Bell!

It really is becoming rather silly, and someone needs to say enough is enough before we truly enter the world of 1984 and ThoughtCrime!

I read on the BBC a few days ago that some footballing bloke in charge of the FA called Greg Clarke had to resign because he called black footballers "coloured footballers" rather than the more acceptable "footballers of colour"

Not sure if that is the full reason, but if it is then I think we have come to the point where anything we say will have to be carefully considered, sanitised, censored and reconsidered before we actually say it in public!

I suppose the only bit of schadenfreude here is for The Guardian itself to find itself on the tit end of the stick, to the point where internecine politics is forcing even its own established liberal/feminist writers to end up as part of the problem!
