I'm all for dressing up but I don't think there's any need for a child to be in full drag. Definitely not performing. Definitely not performing with adults throwing money at them. It's so bloody inappropriate. I think some of the mothers of these drag queen kids are just stage mothers. The drag queen kids are all fun, sparkle and glitter. These mothers can celebrate their ''fabulous'' sons and show the world what amazing, supportive and "iconic"mothers they are, getting worshipped by gay men whose mother's never accepted
them, but I wonder how many of them would retch at the idea of a lesbian daughter?
There's a pattern that has always been evident to me though - drag queens have the spotlight when it comes to drag (whereas drag kings are in the background, hardly ever spoken of out with specific drag communities, there's even bio-queens over drag kings
) and trans women have the spotlight when it comes to trans issues, while trans men are an afterthought,
if that. I also feel that's a similar dynamic with gay men and lesbians.
