I would have died of embarrassment if either of my parents made a big public coming out announcement about me like that on social media.I don’t know why but the gender debate doesn’t come up in my real life. In my mid 30s as are most of my friends, but I don’t think anyone I know is on twitter.
Over the last year two teenage girls I know (well know their parents) have announced they are trans. One is about 15/16 and the other 12. The 12 year olds father made a huge speech on fb about six months ago about how she is now he and got loads of support ect. Recently he did another post about how she has decided she is a girl and not trans anymore. I felt so relieved. Weird that the parents are doing these big public announcements.
I work in a hospital and very recently there was a link in an email about trans badges being available, not seen anyone wearing one. I am expecting things to creep into work. Again no one has ever said anything much in my real life. I have been lucky so far
And she changed her mind six months later? I am shocked. That’s SO unlike a (almost) teenager, practically unheard of...
