I do know a "non binary" person who spends a lot of time whingeing about how it's impossible to get a haircut as most places are barbers or womens hairdressers and there's no gender neutral places. Spoilt cat. Other than that, there are a few people who've drunk the trans kool aid but aren't trans themselves. They just talk about how JK Rowling is a TERF and transphobe and the usual crap.

They should just go to Rush (or any mainstream chain hairdresser), they cater for both men and women's hair. Surely the difference between barbers and hairdressers is just that men typically have much quicker shorter haircuts? Or do they only want to be surrounded by other gender neutral clients? Or is it a case of cost? So many questions!The non binary thing just really hacks me off. If you're neither male nor female then why do you have certain genitalia and hormones? I honestly believe these people are damaged and they expect the rest of the world to partake and share in their damage, from expecting everyone else to denounce biology and to open up non binary places to get a hair cut.
The one person I know IRL who is extremely militant about it was an old teacher from uni. Since her son came out as trans she hasn't shut up about it and tbh I never had an issue with the whole trans thing until she opened my eyes to the dark side of it.
Also I was part of a women's conference in my industry recently and one of the main stage speakers (it was all virtual) was a non-binary person (obvious biological woman but presented very masculine) and they were the rudest, most obnoxious person I've come across in a long time. They stumbled into the call about half an hour late, completely interupting the woman who was in the middle of speaking and started yelling if people can hear them. Then they introduced themselves by declaring "I am non-binary!! I do not identify as a woman!! I have both masculine and feminine traits and if that offends you too bad!!" ...as if not everyone on the planet has both masculine and feminine traits??!
They also said they were at a restaurant and was eating into the camera the whole time, people starting complaining that the background noise was drowning out the other speakers. Awful, awful person.
I think there's a portion of MtF and FtM trans people who even think non-binary people are full of tit lol

Yes, 38 year old white working class Corbynite male. He has a container ship filled with issues relating to women and hates hates hates JK Rowling but clearly for reasons of envy.
However, because of his professional contrarian outlook, his opinions only exist in direct opposition to everyone else and can change if it looks like something he “feels passionately“ about enters mainstream. For instance, he supported Brexit under the left wing rhetoric of anti-globalisation and reducing wage depression due to exploited foreign workers. The day the result was announced of the referendum, it was one long rant against the “racist gammon pigs” and now he is a firm remainer.

No one close to me has ever talked about the trans thing so I’ve no idea how they feel about it. Think it’s safe to say I don’t know any extreme trans activists personally though. I do know two people with trans kids though. One who is nearly 18 and has been out for a couple of years now. Their mum is very libfemmy. The other is 12 and has been out for at least 3 years and their mum is insufferable and never shuts up about their child being trans.
A lad from school is now a trans woman, only realised because they came up on the “people you may know” thing on Facebook and I recognised him/her.
Have one person on my fb who’s quite ‘Pro trans’ and virtue signal for things like chest feeding but they don’t post endlessly about it.

No definitely not. I doubt it will be on the table in government for a long time though (I guess only if Starmer makes it part of his manifesto at the next election and wins).
I saw a very interesting discussion on Twitter about this. Basically a load of TRAs saying ‘well we already have self ID because we go to the doctors and say we’re trans and they agree and off we go.’ There have been posters on here saying it’s not an easy diagnosis to get, there’s a careful vetting process etc...and here we’ve got TRAs basically confirming what some have been saying the whole time
I’m really not surprised because doctors can’t win, if they dx someone with dysphoria and they later de-transition then people say they’re negligent and if they refuse to dx someone then they’re transphobic. It must be a horrible position to be in tbh.

Yeah exactly this. Everyone has ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ traits, the answer to this isn’t to start saying we’re all non-binary but to stop framing certain qualities as masculine or feminine. One of the scariest things for me about all this is that it is exceptionally regressive but hailed as progressive.
No one in my circle (20-40 somethings in a large global city like NYC/London/Hong Kong) is vocal about it but no one is saying anything against it either. I think everyone's too afraid to step on the toes of the "woke" people and get branded as a racist/bigot/hateful (it's funny how if you're anti some of the trans community, people also assume you're anti LGB, racist, bigoted, etc.) so if the uncomfortable subject ever gets brought up (i.e. What do you think of JKR's comments?), the answer is usually something very PC like "it's too bad she feels this way. We should never discriminate people". I actually only know one person who came out as trans and has undergone hormone therapy (FtoM) and he's actually rather low-key. Other than attending the occasional LGBTQ parade, he now has a girlfriend and seems to live a fairly normal life (notice how he's a biological female, while the biological men are crying wolf constantly in the media about their unfair treatment).
Privately, a few close friends of mine along with my partner all agree it's largely a mental disorder. And while we sympathize with people going through this and don't believe they should be discriminated socially or professionally, none of us are happy with how pushy these "activists" are being and infringing upon the rights of women

I don't use social media, but would never say this in public as I can imagine I would be bullied etc. I don't get it at all, there are so many of the things feminism fought for that seem to be regressing. My mum was at uni in the 1970s and a big part of the movement was not shaving, wearing makeup etc. Now, instead of that, men seem to be more focussed on "grooming" too, and women even more so, and there has been a huge rise in male eating disroders etc etc . sometimes i despairView attachment 251005

I liked a few TERFy things on twitter and lost several followers who I had worked with at my last university before leaving academia. Many of my friends are very anti J K Rowling but it’s surface deep - they think it’s all about letting people be who they want etc. It scares me that some bio women have no sense of self preservation at all tbh. Some friends who have been sexually assaulted don’t see any issue with transwomen being in the toilets or changing rooms with us and that really does blow my mind.
I don't understand how these people can have such strong ideas in terms of gender roles (i.e.: this is masculine, that is feminine, etc.) and then come back and attack other people for not being inclusive or accepting enough.
So the color pink and dresses are feminine and sports and beer are masculine according to some of these radicals, but if women don't want them to share our bathrooms, we are discriminatory? Do they even hear themselves? I swear they are all secretly misogynists who hate women and worship generic, straight masculinity.
So so much this. Honestly I think even bio women who swallow this guff have more internalised misogyny than they could ever begin to realise.
