My daughters are now, thankfully, completely GC but they've been watching a show on Netflix called Heartstopper. It's well made and cast but it has a trans character (M to F). It's presented as a situation where the boy was really mixed up and went through a dark time then transitioned, moved to a girls school and now everything is absolutely fine. I'm all for including characters that don't conform in terms of their dress and manner but to show a character get affirmed by all around them then live happily ever after is dangerous. We know it's not the case and shouldn't be presented as such.

Oh Sandi, smh. Has anyone asked her if she would date one? I’m guessing no. Is she doing what a lot of media types do and present as an ally lest they become the next Graham Linehan?
I was just reading this morning that Sandi's WEP have been funded to the tune of nearly £100K over three years by a Google exec who has a trans child. But I'm sure this and her complete inability to "understand" matters are totally unconnected.
Someone coming from a nice cosy middle class luvvie environment who'll likely never been in a position to have to think about prisons, or grape crisis centres or all the other things the rest of us care about.
I don't give a duck whether Sandi chooses not to understand. Consent is not transferable and even if you're quite happy with men in women's space, you don't get to tell the rest of us we have to be.
Seriously, Sandy can just get to duck with her faux naivety.
I love Heartstopper for the most part, especially the portrayal of the relationship between the two lead guys. But the inclusion of a trans kid character does put a damper on what is otherwise a heartwarming, uplifting show.
The actor as well is the weak link in the cast, especially during season 2.

Where people are absolutely unwavering in their support for trans ideals, you will find someone who has transed a child and cannot bear for it to not be true otherwise what have they done?

Why men in dresses are applauded so much I don't know.
I love a couple of Strictly Come dancing male gay dancers. They are not trans but if they wear dress they're applauded, yes it's breaking stereotypes re clothes but what is so Awesome about it?
Why make it your whole personality? And why not be honest and say they look awful when they do instead of fawning.
Why assume any criticism is being phobic/narrow minded and that it's from old/white women, its misogynistic and racist and not very open minded of these so called progressive thinkers.

The fawning really sickens me. ‘If you’ve nothing nice to say just be quiet’ well I don’t think it’s remotely nice to tell Frank in a frock that he looks stunning when in reality he looks like he’s fallen into the charity shop’s rejected pile and had an enthusiastic three year old do his hair and make up. Much kinder to say he looks like tit in my opinion.

Women like Sandi are basically pulling the ladder up after themselves and throwing the next generation of lesbians to the wolves.
They get social capital for standing up for men in dresses and bullying other lesbians into “unlearning their genital preferences” but they are often in long term relationships or marriages that mean they will never have to dip back into the dating pool and dodge all the men that they’ve allowed in.
Sandi Toksvig, like all lesbians, only dates and sleeps with women. She wouldn't date a TiM, because she isn't attracted to men, just like all lesbians. I'm straight but even I know that 
There's been a huge fuss over same sex dancing partnerships on Strictly. I'm all for inclusion, and I'm not homophobic in any way, shape or form, but I really can't see the point? Ballroom dancing is designed for mixed couples, there's no reason why the individual dancers can't be gay, but there is normally a male lead and a female partner, their sexuality is completely irrelevant. The male couple on Strictly at present are both amazing dancers, and they clearly have a lovely working relationship, but I honestly don't understand why being gay means you need to dance with a member of the same sex? I'm probably missing a point somewhere, but I'm not sure that the point needed to be made.

Agree they’re not a great actor (and that’s nothing to do with their trans status), but it hasn’t stopped them getting snapped up by Russell T Davies for the new series of Dr Who. I bet if the actor was not trans, their career would not have taken off as it has.
I think it should just be left to individuals whether they go mixed or same sex and not predetermined by their sexuality. The producers obviously want the sexual tension rumours to get people tuning in, which can't happen if you're paired up with the wrong person. When Susan Calman was on, she danced with a man. In response to "why aren't you dancing with a woman?" she said: "No one is holding me hostage in this room, making me wear a dress and dance with a man. I want to learn how to dance... I have protested, I have picketed, I have fought, I have been spat on, I have been punched — and I want to dance."
