I’m in a parent group with a load of other mums from my sons old special school. One of the mums I’m friends with has a daughter who has just moved over to the SEN part of a nearby college. Today she handed her mum this letter. She has severe learning difficulties and a chromosome condition, has no concept of gender and has obviously been coached into writing and printing it as she lacks the capacity to do it independently.

That’s bloody terrifying as a parent of a gender non-conforming child with ASD and a language disorder. I’d be absolutely livid! And the worst thing is, we’re told once they turn 16, they can make their own decisions even if we parents know it’s not in their best interests or they lack insight.
Isn't it strange how people say LGBTQ without thinking about the 'queer' I don't think people many would use that word to describe a gay person. I would never use it as it used to be a slur. And if the G is already in there then why do they need the Q? They're the same, no?

It might sound extreme to some but to me that's tantamount to child abuse. That sort of thing is going to have lifelong implications. He'd probably need therapy as an adult to unpick all of that and why his parents made such a poor decision on his behalf.
Who the duck has groomed a girl with LD into believing she’s non-binary? And how? I’m wondering whether this has come up in a PSHE type lesson (assuming that’s on the curriculum in SEN schools?)
It’s bad enough that teachers collude with transing kids in any school, but for someone with learning difficulties, that’s appalling.

I know this isn’t really the point but that makes me feel sad because it’s so impersonal as well. Like saying “I’m doing some work with them” or “they like music time” or whatever just seems dehumanising in some way, especially when talking about someone who lacks the capacity to understand pronouns.
Did you happen to read the comments on that tweet, where someone has mentioned a man (presumably dressed as a woman) getting a "euphoria boner" when they use the women's bathroom? It's bloody sick.

Pronouns have an original function and its the only way they have any function.they provide context,clarity and help to enforce safety protocols too

you cannot be surprised that given the major contextual information biological sex gives to human society there are counter hundreds of millions.. actually billions globally who use pronouns for their only functional application, to indicate sex for which "Gender" was once a helpful synonym that distinguished the biological categories from the act of intercourse.

Oh my bleeping god. I'd go ballistic. Absolutely ridiculous. I'd have to go down there and inform her that I'll be continuing to tell my child she's female and ANY negative reaction from HER towards my child for calling her by female pronouns will have severe consequences for HER. Imagine having these immature little ducks teaching your child.
In fact I'd be demanding a move from her class.
