This breastfeeding dude is peaking people; this is good.
Are you saying that the daily mail are somehow to blame for the met removing the badge in the first place because they stoke up outrage? I can't follow your logic there I'm afraid.I just think it's a bit rich that a right wing newspaper which is famous for stoking outrage complains when the result of said outrage comes home to roost.
They rile up the right, which causes trouble. Then the Police responds to reduce the outrage/trouble and then the same media attacks them for it.
The paper itself knows what it's doing. It couldn't care less about the causes it pretends to, it just caters for its audience for clicks and paper sales.
If you’re sick of the anti pride stuff, may I respectfully suggest that the LGB movement campaign for the removal of the rest of the alphabet people from Pride ? None of us on here are anti Pride, we are just fed up of men pretending to be women tagging themselves on to what was a very important movement.I didn't mean on here; my comment was more general about right wing media after reading some screenshots from that rag.![]()
I'm just sick of all the anti Pride stuff and, like it or not, the "community" (for want of a better phrase) gets it in the neck when it comes to most of the criticism. Pride month is over now, but the likes of the DM will still keep trotting out their faux outrage.
As an aside, I read your post right after I'd read the LGB thread and thought I was on there for a minute. I'm trying to get better at just ignoring stuff that annoys me, but sometimes I find it hard haha.
I agree that's low in the gutter - but I can find worse from the DM if you want me to? I don't think you need convincing really, though.I don’t know, it depends how you look at it, I suppose. A publication telling women who were mass grape that it was all their own fault is pretty low in the gutter, IMO.
Not directly. I was discussing right wing media, of which the DM is a part. Basically you get right wing media that stoke up moral outrage - eg they were against the Black Lives Matter movement. That then influences protests, as we saw in the US. Understandably the Police here want to avoid protests and unrest, hence make suggestions about removing emblems during certain events. It all feeds itself. Are you saying that the daily mail are somehow to blame for the met removing the badge in the first place because they stoke up outrage? You can respectfully suggest whatever you like! Some people are already campaigning for that. Some aren't. You're never going to get full agreement across so many people after all.If you’re sick of the anti pride stuff, may I respectfully suggest that the LGB movement campaign for the removal of the rest of the alphabet people from Pride ? Yes I've seen a couple of clips like this with people questioning about medical questioning. Of course there is never a logical replyI think it was Mat Walsh who pointed out why biology matters when he was speaking to a paramedic in America. Would you believe a biological male was having a miscarriage and treat him accordingly if you arrived at his house and there was blood everywhere? When it comes to medicine sex matters and how a Dr treats your condition (in most cases) is based on whether you are a man or a woman. I wonder how many of them would disagree with biology in those instances?
I know the DM are right wing and I agree they stir things up at times but you can't blame them even indirectly for this decision. They could just as easily say that they wouldn't have to write some of their articles if the left didn't keep pushing the boundaries. Ultimately people and organisations are responsible for their own decisions and the met got this one wrong. It's such a copout to blame the DM and the right even indirectly for this.---

I’ll bet you didn’t get that much before the TQI whatever appropriated the LGB though. You can respectfully suggest whatever you like! Some people are already campaigning for that. Some aren't. You're never going to get full agreement across so many people after all.
Even terminology can't be agreed upon. For example, I noticed you use the phrase "alphabet people", which you likely mean for the letters after B, whereas I know some people include LGB within that definition because it's all letters to them. I've certainly had people use the phrase against me just as part of the G.
They found out it had been taken over by a Marxist group.eg they were against the Black Lives Matter movement.
Love to see it!This breastfeeding dude is peaking people; this is good.
No it was just straight up slurs then to be honest.I’ll bet you didn’t get that much before the TQI whatever appropriated the LGB though.

I'm just looking at the reasons why the Met did it and that was because the thin blue line emblem is linked to far right groups in the US. Not all far right groups are influenced by the media, but they certainly don't help with their articles. That's why the DM acting all shocked is really galling to me. They're part of the same machine that stokes the right wing, then have the audacity to feign shock when the result of those actions play out.I know the DM are right wing and I agree they stir things up at times but you can't blame them even indirectly for this decision. Also people and media on the left are just as capable of stirring up moral outrage e.g. the JK Rowling backlash and in this case it was protests from the left that the police were trying to avoid in the first place. I don't think the right can legitimately be blamed even a little bit for this particular decision. I'm not saying they're always innocent but they've done nothing wrong here imo.
The mother could pump breast milk and the TIM could feed the poor baby. When my daughter was a baby my husband helped to feed her by giving her formula milk in a bottle. Why on earth couldn't that TIM do that?
It's just disgusting that his fetish is being indulged over the health of a baby. I despair when I read tit like this. We are living in a dystopia hell.
And that's exactly what it is. A fetishtic entitled bleep, indulging in it & being enabled by others who should bleeping know better. When my daughter was a baby my husband helped to feed her by giving her formula milk in a bottle. Why on earth couldn't that TIM do that?

And people are, rightly, asking why does influence from a recently created movement from another country halfway across the planet, take precedence over a longer standing UK-based movement that has nothing to do with the American counterpart, until someone decided they’re linked, in 2023?I'm just looking at the reasons why the Met did it and that was because the thin blue line emblem is linked to far right groups in the US. Perfect example of political and societal stances and trenches in 2023, and for many years, largely due to social media in my opinion. You are for something, then you are automatically against something. If you’re not against it, then you’re for it. No nuance, no grey areas. You’re not Labour? You’re a Tory. Don’t like The Guardian? You’re a Daily Mail lover. Pro Brexit? You’re racist. Anti Brexit? You hate your country.I know the DM are right wing and I agree they stir things up at times but you can't blame them even indirectly for this decision. Isn't it normal to learn from other events, even if they're in other countries? And people are, rightly, asking why does influence from a recently created movement from another country halfway across the planet, take precedence over a longer standing UK-based movement that has nothing to do with the American counterpart, until someone decided they’re linked, in 2023?
Why shouldn’t newspapers report on facts? Is the fallout of the truthful facts the reports fault? That smacks of shades of “look what you made me do” - ironically, the tone of the infamous Guardian article I referred to earlier.
And if the latter part is aimed at me, you're wrong. I commented on a DM article because a DM article was posted here (and not by me). I criticised the article because I think it's written in a way that's intended to spark outrage - not because I've decided the DM is bad.And people are, rightly, asking why does influence from a recently created movement from another country halfway across the planet, take precedence over a longer standing UK-based movement that has nothing to do with the American counterpart, until someone decided they’re linked, in 2023?

And some people cannot let this mindset go. If it was printed “Grass is green” in a newspaper, depending on the person, they will absolutely argue to the point of their fingers falling off from typing to disagree with it if it’s in a news outlet they’ve decided as bad.
No it wasn’t directed at you, I thought you might think that after I posted, and I thought of editing but didn’t - the caveat would have been that as this forum is IMO the most “grown up” forum I’ve ever been on, my comment wasn’t directed at anyone here because nobody I have encounter on here acts like that. Had it occurred on Reddit, Digital Spy, MN, Datalounge etc, there would have been several users it was made to be a spiky point about.Isn't it normal to learn from other events, even if they're in other countries?
And this was one event. One. It's not like it's now been banned forevermore, not that many would realise that from the DM article. So it's a bit of a joke describing it as reporting facts.Again, it's media with their exaggeration and whipping up of discord.
