Funny, I just read this post and exactly the same time, on the Jeremy Vine show this is the topic being discussed after the break. Will try and give a report back. Jeremy will be fawning, I imagine 🙄
Jeremy has to jeep on side with his mate Jane Fae. So glad this is getting airtime though as this will really make people question what the agenda

It feels a bit like manufactured outrage from the Daily Mail, though. Notice how the screenshot says it was removed from uniforms because it MIGHT offend. Nowhere does it say anyone from Pride demanded they remove it. And, let's face it, if they had, the DM would say that.

So the Police should be getting the flak for removing that badge for Pride, yet I expect most of the blame will be placed on the organisers and attendees of Pride, as per usual.

To me this shows a lot of the division is stoked by the right wing media (the Daily Mail, GB News, TalkTV, etc). They love their "OMG this awful thing just happened and YOU should be OUTRAGED!" articles/news pieces and they always have.

Sorry to come back to the p forcing the baby too suck his pecs but at what point would the authorities intervene? What if the optics were slightly different and it was a pensioner doing it?
Some mothers bottle feed their baby so why wasn't that good enough? As usual it's all about them. ME! ME! ME!
No one is protecting this child. This is far from normal and it would be best for all involved to give the baby over to carers.

Because this is a man, this is a mother breastfeeding.

If this was a woman, it would be a birthing person chest feeding.

(Side note: I never took my children out of the pushchair on a bus till they were old enough to sit up unaided - far too dangerous to have a babe in arms on a moving vehicle.)
I find this repulsive.

okay, i have access through work to the article. i will read and report back

  • so, basically, they only looked at calorie count, which was okay, even though they couldn't produce anywhere near enough milk for a baby to live (thank god for that at least), and so the mother was the main feeder.
  • Had to use IVF for pregnancy
  • Had to order domperidone from canada because couldn't get it from their doctors (wonder why)
  • None if it was particularly scientific, admittedly this is not my area, i'm medical genomics, but we'd never get away with submitting something like this lol - its just a one person 'case study' where they just relied on his testimony and did some calorie testing on the resulting milk
  • Most importantly "Other important characteristics of human milk, including micronutrients and bioactive factors, were not assessed".
I'd be most interested in knowing the bioactive factors etc, as from what i can recall from my looong time ago bio bsc, a baby can get a lot of immunity etc from their mother through breastfeeding, so I'm thinking a lot of TIM hormones are potentially transferred to the poor kid.

So the baby is a Guinea pig to be experimented on by this deranged entitled freak and all the so called “professionals” are just going along with it?

Nor nowhere, as far as I can see, has anyone on here said “Pride organisers forced Met Police to ditch badge in order to protect LGBT people at Pride.” The original post said the police were policing the police. You said the police should get the flak, as per so said the article. What is your point?

God yes, the photos of him in the news were just horrible.
As disgusting as the photo was, it REALLY turned this saga and peoples opinions on the subject around and into public consciousness. I noticed that the BBC and The Guardian always used a cropped photo of just head and waist. Very telling. The photographer that took the photo really earned their chops that day.

One of the articles I read, talked about this medication. It’s not recommended in pregnancy but breastfeeding is a bit of a grey area (and difficult to research) - rarely will they say not okay for pregnancy but safe for BF, they’re usually lumped together.

I didn't mean on here; my comment was more general about right wing media after reading some screenshots from that rag. :D

I'm just sick of all the anti Pride stuff and, like it or not, the "community" (for want of a better phrase) gets it in the neck when it comes to most of the criticism. Pride month is over now, but the likes of the DM will still keep trotting out their faux outrage.

As an aside, I read your post right after I'd read the LGB thread and thought I was on there for a minute. I'm trying to get better at just ignoring stuff that annoys me, but sometimes I find it hard haha.

What faux outrage? The police have taken it upon themselves to trash the memory of their killed officers by banning their officers of wearing a long-time commemorative badge because (they have decided) in 2023 it looks similar to a far right group logo in the USA. That is outrageous to some people.

And the Daily Mail could have an article about the cutest litter of puppies in the world being born and their commentators would be asking if the dogs were actually born in this country, and saying they were probably funded by taxpayer money and benefits.

I just think it's a bit rich that a right wing newspaper which is famous for stoking outrage complains when the result of said outrage comes home to roost.

They rile up the right, which causes trouble. Then the Police responds to reduce the outrage/trouble and then the same media attacks them for it.

The paper itself knows what it's doing. It couldn't care less about the causes it pretends to, it just caters for its audience for clicks and paper sales.

It’s frankly disgusting that the Met have ordered the badge removal so not to offend those who believe being called the wrong pronoun is violence. Men and women have been killed in the line of duty. Yes, the order came from the Met, not Pride but the toxicity of the current situation regarding trans rights is seeping further and further into society.

Like every media outlet then? I recall an article by The Guardian blaming women being mass grape by migrants in Germany on New Years Eve because “the German women had iPhones and the migrants might have been jealous by that”. When people rightly condemned them for the article they blamed it on right wing media frothing people up. The Daily Mail, The Guardian, The BBC, The Telegraph, The Metro…all doing the same stuff, just cut from different parts of cloth.

Sorry, I can't find the original post to quote - it included a Twitter article. These are two comments from it which I completely agree with.

My online searches yesterday found the same - all about the man and his affirmation yet nothing about the baby's needs.

Yep - "back in the day" when I had my children we were given advice about what to eat and what to avoid. I also remember phoning my GP to check it was safe for me to take paracetamol that day as I was recovering from a full-blown migraine.

Had she said "no" I would have struggled through without taking any. Because like the majority of us women I didn't want to risk any harm to my babies.

Yet these men are happily taking multiple medications on a daily basis, some off label, with no thought to the potential dangers to the baby. But it's not a fetish.

I also found this article in the comments.

They all do it, but the DM is definitely the worst for it. Anything to stay at the top, eh?

I don’t know, it depends how you look at it, I suppose. A publication telling women who were mass grape that it was all their own fault is pretty low in the gutter, IMO.
