I saw a post on Twitter comparing Calvin Klein adverts from 20 years ago to today.

20 years ago - slim, athletic woman (OK, maybe a bit too skinny but a classic underwear model body type)

Today - obese, trans, danger hair etc etc.

I don't know really. I just saw the videos from when billboard Chris was in Oxford recently so it was fresh in my head. And there was the whole Kathleen Stock thing where the students were offered counselling and mindful colouring to help them cope with her opinions.

I was going to make a silly remark about her looking possessed but I actually think this looks like some sort of trauma response. Or extreme mental illness.

I thought this woman was in need of mental heath assistance, however on closer inspection, she is just a f*&king bigoted idiot. :mad:

Shame that she has been given a platform to spew her illogical rhetoric.

It's worrying that these kind of outbursts are becoming more regular in politics. We can't have these scary people leading us. They are clearly unwell.

There's a massive mental health crisis since the pandemic affecting adults and young people.

Loads of adults severely traumatised by isolation and/or not being able to see loved ones in hospitals or care homes. Then there's tons of children refusing to go to school as well now. Add into the mix toxic social media platforms like Tiktok where lunatics are given a platform and its no wonder kids are so confused 😐

Wow some of the comments on this (the ones in agreement) have made my jaw drop. All women too. They really believe that affirming trans children is a good thing. Absolutely terrifying.

A lot of comments with a lot of likes decrying this have been deleted since I checked earlier. There are still new ones being posted but it makes the comments section look sqewed and as if those with pro trans affirming care for children are in the majority whereas earlier it very much read the other way.

Constantly walking on damn eggshells.

Yes, it must be hard to be whatevered but we are all whatevered every day in some way, some people are misgendered, some people are constantly assumed to be more capable or less capable based on age, sex, disability or assumptions made about who we are as a person based on appearances/history/religion/race. To be offended is a choice, sure, be upset but don't react in such an inflammatory way. There are ways of doing things without screaming transphobe at every tiny little thing. In the grand scheme of things, by bringing in so many options, by being able to be he/him whilst presenting as female and whatever other combinations, they haven't exactly made it easy and I'm not going to read every little damn badge I come across, first of all, I don't like staring at people's chests trying to figure out the tiny writing on the badge and secondly, I'm more interested in a name; a name is more important than a pronoun because that is WHO you actually are, not your damn pronoun.

People put far too much value on appearance. I have a conservative job, I have to be professional at work. I have a young family and all that entails. I still love heavy metal, covet more piercings and tattoos, also love murder podcasts and karaoke and rosé. We are multitudes, and the blue hair brigade have never come across an ‘inner life’ or not being an open book. People make assumptions about you, either correct them, or ignore them. I think RuPaul is actually GC so I will allow his quote ‘what other people think of you is none of your business’

This type of sentencing for a sadistic, sexually-motivated murder where a woman was burned alive and died in terror and pain is absolutely pathetic. Scotland needs to get a grip. It does not have whole life sentences either. There’s no crime that’s so bad you could never come up for parole, right?… Right??
