The problem is that it is now a phase (as we all go through) that can have really drastic lasting consequencesA lot of it is defo a phase lmfao. Like let’s not pretend we all didn’t have a radical leftwing phase when we were younger where we said lots of silly things. I know people who used to go around claiming to be communists and now they work in marketing.
Either way, from what I’m seeing I think a lot of people (especially the real young people ie the teens of today) are giving less and less of a tit about transgenderism at this point anyway.

An acquaintance of mine has a teenager daughter who pre covid socially transitioned and became male. The parents were clear they were supportive and tried to be as understanding as possible but were not willing to take their child to see any specialists to undergo any kind of treatment. When the child was 18 it would be their decision if they wanted hormonal treatment. I had a look on their Facebook the other day just out of interest and she is back identifying as female!
I can only imagine how many young people have parents who want to be seen as progressive and would have taken their child for treatment asap and then ended up with a teenager who changes their mind but is left with side effects.

There is a couple I know that have a child born a boy who says that at 6 years old the child was claiming they are actually a girl. They didn't think it was just a phase and let the kid start wearing dresses, growing their hair out, etc. The kid must be about 11 now and they still dress like a girl, I've no idea if they've gone through medical procedures. But I do wonder if the child would really still dress this way if their parents hadn't allowed it. Kids' minds are like sponges and they allowed it to happen so young that this kid won't know much else...
There's definitely a large proportion of the parents of trans kids who get off on the attention (Jazz Jennings mum and Jonathan Saccone Joly spring to mind). I know there are others who are lied to by the doctors they are supposed to be able to trust, but I'd imagine there's more in the first category.

Its on the Disney channels in the UK and based on True life cases from rural USA, outlined in a book Dopesick. Its a tough watch, but its about the issues raised of addiction to drugs that were promised to be non addictive by pharma companies. Oxycontin was marketed as a middle range pain killer, for headaches and minor pain issues, when it should have been just used for major pain from operations etc. Then it was pushed to doctors to prescribe in larger and larger doses, leading to inevitable addiction. Dopesick describes the horrendous withdrawal symptoms faced by addicted individuals, who cant shake their addiction.
Dopesick focuses on "the epicenter of America's struggle with opioid addiction" across the U.S.,[4] on how individuals and families are affected by it, on the alleged conflicts of interest involving Purdue Pharma and various government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration and the United States Department of Justice, and finally, on the legal case against Purdue Pharma and their development, testing and marketing of the drug OxyContin.
What is really scary is how long it took for the pharma companies to be held to any kind of legal account in the USA. It took over 10 years for Purdue pharma to be held to account, even though the problems were almost obvious from day 1! And the imbalance between common sense and basic facts, and the money making advertising and promotional machine behind big pharma.
It does make me wonder about the pharma companies promoting gender change drugs and surgery!! I wonder if enormous profits ever get in the way of following any kind of moral code?

Yeah, their daughter Shiloh, I remember one of the parents saying in an interview that Shiloh looked up to her big brothers and wanted to be like them so they left her to it, she wanted to be called John for a while after watching Peter Pan. I remember Chaz Bono giving an interview to a magazine (I think, one of the American magazines) offering to take Shiloh under their guidance and help her with transitioning but Pitt and Jolie ignored the offer, very wisely imo. Jolie in particular was pissed about the interview and the offer.

The worst thing about Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is when photos emerged of her looking feminine, so many people expressed surprise - “Whoa, I thought she was trans!”
No, it was a harmless phase and she was left alone. I guess people are so used to celebrities transing their kids, it was shocking to see a kid that wasn’t.

It really stuck in my mind at the time because a lot of the comments online and "blind" items on gossip sites implied that Jolie was transing her daughter as she didn't want to compete with this beautiful, younger girl. Imagine being a mother in the public eye and people saying that about you when you are trying to protect your child in the best way you can. I have so much respect that she just let her daughter be, gave her time and space to grow and navigate who she wanted to be, so many of the famous parents jump straight into "My trans child, look how liberal I am" mode.
I was speaking to a friend about this stuff last week and he had come to the conclusion that so many middle class parents just love this idea of a trans child, as having a gay child is so passe nowadays, they are just not aspirational anymore. To show your liberal/lefty credentials you have to up your game. He is a teacher and he sees none of this in his working class school, but the middle class school up the road most classes have at least one trans/non-binary kid and the staff are tying themselves in knots trying to remember pronouns and correct terminology.
Well done Angelina, well done Busy, well done parents who stand strong and sensible and let their kids have a phase without sending them for irreversible medical meddling. And then they grow out of it and parents are relieved and the pro trans people are disappointed.

At three years old no child would have such thoughts as "born in the wrong body".
Oh imagine that, an adopted child with identity issues. Obviously it's because they're trans and not the unavoidable trauma that comes with being an adoptee (I am also an adoptee).
Yep adoptee here too, so for Charlize child the combination of adoption issues with being a child of colour in a white family, what a surprise that the child is questioning their identity.
