I actually agree with Owen there - don't faint.
I've watched the full video. I didn't really want to, but if you're gonna comment on something, you should at least know the subject matter.
There's nothing in it that isn't in a load of pop music videos. If there was nudity I couldn't see it. Scantily clad dancers yes, but showing no more than most people show at the beach on a summer day. Sam is a man (sorry but he is) - so wearing nipple tassles isn't as obscene as a woman wearing tassles on her breasts would be. I know it's a double standard, but that's the world we live in.
I think most of the 'controversy' comes from the part that's supposedly meant to be a 'golden shower'. However, the bit in question is tame really because it's clear water, so is no more obscene than drinking from a water fountain. The opening credits of Friends where they play in the fountain and spit water out their mouths also needs banning if this video needs banning.
Of course the Daily Mail is whipping its readers up into a moral outrage, demanding to know why kids can view it on YouTube, etc. But that's a YouTube problem that's existed long before Sam Smith's videos. Children shouldn't be allowed unfettered access to YouTube anyway and that's the responsibility of parents, no one else.
So, as per usual, it's much ado about nothing!

I think I sort of agree with you. I haven’t watched the whole video, mainly because I’m not a fan of Sam Smith’s music, so the idea of having to listen to his singing AND watch him at the same time is a bit much. But from the clips I’ve seen there’s absolutely nothing in there that hasn’t been done before.
Your point about the double standards is spot on.It’s pretty rich of the DM to be winding themselves into a fury over this particular video. This is the same DM that wanks itself silly over photo after photo of women in bikinis frolicking in the surf, flaunting their curves in next to nothing or taking an impromptu shower in the Trafalgar Square fountain.
If they want to start a discussion about morality, perhaps they need to start with looking at themselves.
And I gave the reason why - the common feature - water.

I don’t mind Sam’s video so I’m not making a point about that. It’s just a video that doesn’t affect me perosnally.
However, comparing an overtly sexual video that definitely has the intentions of simulating a golden shower to a clip where people are playing in a fountain, which has no sexual motivations, doesn’t make sense. Both of them including water means nothing when one is overtly sexual and designed to provoke a response by pushing the boundaries.
So there definitely is a difference between the two. I’m sure people would much prefer their children watching the scene from friends rather than video.

I think most pop videos are verging on pornographic, from male and female acts alike. So I don't target Sam specifically. But it is a shame because when he first started out, whilst I never liked his voice I can at least appreciate he dressed in nice expressive, fashionable suits with nice jewellery, and sang somewhat decent songs. Alas, though he has unsurprisingly gone on the pop conveyer belt where subsequent songs end up being tit, musically, reduced just refrains, sex, and dull beats. Where is the soul and craft of a good song, these days?!
By comparison, I know Adele is a massive ego now, but at least when she performs she still wears proper clothing and aims to look elegant. Sam (and most pop singers) always end up in cut-away leotards and corsets eventually.
I do think though that all pop, including Sam's latest offering, is making sex acts be sung by children, it seems a like pushing it on kids to be honest. Why can't Sam (and the others) sing about other things for a change?
The answer is, attention and sales.

It does make sense because both only involve water. So if seeing water being sprayed is obscene then the same applies to any fountain - I just used the Friends one as an example.

However most pop/rock stars aim for the shock factor, at least sometimes. It's a well known tactic and it's a bit daft to fall for it.
