God, the emphasis on the sexually defining elements of a woman in the hanging picture: breast and fan sketched out in white, looking like a sad face, now I look at it again and extra emphasis on feet, not in shoes, which is where women's feet belong, of course, but the depicted woman is worthless, it says everything they hate about us. Even the dots in the lettering look like nipples. The TRAs really hate women, don't they?

what the duck is wrong with Labour? They are so out of touch with the public, no wonder they unelectable. They pander all the bloody time, but ignore their core voters.
I read a query on a different forum designed for teachers who have questions about their job.. The poster questioned when there would be legislation around maternity and paternity leave for trans people.... They want paternity leave for transmen (who would potentially be carrying the baby) and maternity leave for transwomen (who won't carry the baby). It was very frustrating to read. Totally undervalues a woman and the stress their body goes through during pregnancy, as the leave would not be connected to whether or not they carried a child, just what they identify as. An absolute joke!
This is what I don't understand. This is just pushing old generation stereotypes we've fought hard to get rid. Will the child at 7 or 8 be like "OK well I like pink and dolls so I must be a girl" or "I like football so I must be a boy". What an absolute joke! It's gone to far!!!
If we had a general election tomorrow I wouldn't know who to vote for. I can't in good conscience vote Labour given their stance on this issue but I'm not sure anyone else is a viable alternative.
I've been a life long Labour voter but I cannot vote to be erased.
Tory it would have to be and I hate Boris but at least they know what a woman is.
I could not vote for any party wishing to erase the sex class of women by forcing women to accept men.
A bit off topic but still related there was an investigation and arrests when football fans of the team I support hung effigies with the opposing teams scarfs on them. However when its woman its all fine sadly.

This. There's something very smarmy about Starmer. A party that erases women and safety can Eff Off with any expectation of my vote. The Tories aren't great either so who the eff do we vote for? Definitely not Labour.
Starmer just agrees with whoever is in front of him at the time. When he's being questioned on TV he's like the boggart in Harry Potter when it gets confused and doesn't know what to turn into because then he's trying to placate everyone.
The Labour Party has gone from one leader who had principles that were so inflexible he was incapable of compromise or practicality to someone who is constantly shape shifting.
The Boggart is a perfect analogy.
The guy has no backbone. As terribly as Boris and the government has done Starmer doesn't seem to have anything to bring to the table instead. A man who doesn't know that sex is real should not be trusted with leading the country. Come next election we need new strong candidates from all parties so that the public actually get a proper choice rather than "the least bad option".

There's corruption on one side and lunacy science denialism on the other. What a choice We need more women (and men) to come out to speak like JKR. She shouldn't have to fight on her own. The celebs of this country need to break out of their fear of cancellation and advocate for sex based rights and rip the culture of cancellation to shreds. Talks show hosts, podcasts, radio presenters etc need to be less scared of platforming speakers who don't toe the Stonewall TRA line. Womens Hour needs to be pro-women again. TV show host need to stop pandering to the "stunning and brave" movement.

I think we’re all politically adrift at the moment. I’m in Scotland and have voted SNP for years but feel so let down by Nicola Sturgeon over all the gender stuff. I thought she was on the side of women. I was wrong.
Just been thinking about non binary (females) and how self hating you must have to be to pretend you are not what you body tells you are. I feel like with trans there is gender dysphoria, a real condition that requires therapy and in some cases transition to ease the mental distress. But females who say they are neither female or male…what?? You don’t want to be treated like a female, because of sexism and misogyny. I’m a woman and I can’t opt out of these things. No matter if I call myself they/them. It just feels like such a cop out and a betrayal to all women that they would think they are so much better than the rest of us and deserve to be treated differently because you wear a beanie hat everywhere and insist on they/them pronouns??

I agree. I can imagine younger girls think identify ing as nonbinary might help them try to disassociate from trauma and societal pressures, but then you surely end up disassociating yourself from your body? Many of us have bodies that let us down from various conditions and illnesses and vulnerabilities but we cannot deny our bodies, because we are in them. They are us, whether we like them or not, whether we look after them or not. Instead of asking Kier Starmer, David Lanny etc to define a woman, maybe they should ask them to define what a man is.
This is the irony of Labour being the supposed party of the people and the Tories being for certain types.
Love them or loathe them the Tories have produced the only female prime ministers we have ever had, one of whom really was ahead of her time in terms of women being in leadership jobs (whatever one thinks of her), AND the only ethnic minority prime minister (going back a looooong time but Benjamin Disraeli was very obviously and proudly an ethnic Jew in Victorian times when anti-semitism was far more heightened than today).
I used to vote Green but now will only vote strategically, and if that means Tories so be it, to make sure women are not erased because it is so fundamental, and we will only realise how fundamental if we give away our existence to men.
Couldn’t agree more. Does he honestly think the average labour voter on the street gives a tit about any of this? They’re worried about fuel prices, pensions, rises in cost of living, the list goes on. So out of touch!
All the others are captured. So Tory it is. I'd rather send the message that woman can't be erased than, abstain (which makes us complicit in the outcome) or vote for a party who lives in fantasy land.
I couldn't vote tory except as a protest vote in a safe seat. I deplore everything else about them, especially as they are with their current leader.
I don't know what I'll do in the next election. Spoil my ballot with an adult human female sticker?
