Surely staying to fight would be the ultimate gender-affirming activity?

it’s an awful a situation and I wouldn’t judge anyone who didn’t want to stay but surely dressing ‘like a girl/woman’ set their dysphoria off? Or does that only apply in certain situations where they can kick up a fuss, like being misgendered at work?

My husband is at a dinner party which Keir Starmer and other NW Labour MPs are attending on Thursday 24th March.
He's not sure if he'll get chance to ask him anything but he is willing to ask him at least one question if he gets chance. Looking for help with the best question/questions to ask.
When you say about trans rights, do you mean the right of men to identify as women, when it is not a right? Lying about your sex is not a right, and appropriating women's rights on the basis of that lie is not a conflict, it is an abuse. Can you clarify please?

Absolutely, I very much feel for the men of Ukraine who have no choice. However, you can't demand to be taken as a man 100% of the time and then duck out the minute that involves a downside.

Just seen on my tv an ad for the new ‘enough’ campaign to call out harassment, sexual assault and coercive control against women and girls. With a helpline. From the govt.

I’m so glad I’m stumbling across more and more GC spaces with women chatting!

i watched a documentary on YouTube called Dysphoric that really opened my eyes to everything going on.

i used to be in a womens only child free group on Facebook. I was in an abusive relationship at the time and because of my partners criminal past had decided that I never wanted to get married or have children. I’ll spare details because I don’t want to upset any women in this thread

because of his abusive nature I ended up pregnant. I decided to document my abortion journey in the group to help other women - especially as a lot of them lived internationally and had bought abortion pills online or had crappy experiences at the doctors and knew nothing about what to expect. I described what happened at my various appointments and what happened when I took the medication that terminated the pregnancy as well as the many upsetting and confusing feelings that came with terminating a pregnancy I absolutely didn’t want.

well in my final post to the group, I was detailing how I felt after a few months had passed and I get a random comment from someone who was clearly a man with a bald head explaining to me that I should be on birth control or not having sex if I didn’t want to get pregnant (completely ignoring that the pregnancy was actually a result of an assault). This person was named something like Tracy or Trudy. Assuming this man troll had accidently slipped through into the womens group I flagged it upto the moderators for him to be removed.

My messages and reports went ignored and this person was able to remain in the group. It turned out that this individual “identified” as a woman and was allowed access to a womens only childfree space, many of the women in this group were lesbians, bisexual or had previously been assaulted by men and wanted a space where they were safe to interact without male onlookers.

shortly after debates broke out as Trudy/ Tracy/ whoever’s comments were noticed by several members. The moderators agreed that this safe space also included trans women and that we essentially wernt allowed to correct these people even when they injected themselves into comments women were having about highly sensitive female subjects. The group became divided with many women firmly on the side of trans women, even offering up their uterus to transplant to a trans woman who couldn’t have her own babies (??? What about actual women that cant?). It literally became madness and any woman who said anything otherwise was called out and banned from the group. Every trans woman in the group was heralded some kind of hero and the girls fell at their feet to praise them.

i found the whole thing immensely upsetting, deleted all of my abortion related posts and made an entirely new account to escape these people. I can’t believe that they felt they couldn’t shut a man down who shoved his way into a womens only space and criticised me after I had a termination and judged me for it, when I was especially trying to help other woman. There were other women there battling many issues (some of the women wernt childfree by choice but because of medical conditions)

these freaks don’t deserve access to our spaces, there’s so few places where you can talk openly with other woman about what’s happening to you, what your going through and how to deal with it. But we’re bending over backwards to accommodate men in our spaces? It makes me sick.

anyway I’ll resume my usual petty threads on these boards. I’m glad there are so many women waking upto this nonsense.

So sorry for what you went through. My heart goes out to you. I’m sure it took a lot of courage to document that painful journey, but did so to help other women. It is so enraging that there were other women in the group pandering to a person that would say that to you after what you’ve been through. It’s really sickening. Do feel free to stick around here, it can be cathartic to read GC comments. I’d like to think the tide is turning but it’s still risky to voice your views in the real world, so we’re still being silenced in many ways. I do think it would shock the Uber woke Twitter types to know what the majority of every day women are actually thinking in their heads.

Ughhh busy Philipps sharing articles about ‘the myths about trans kids healthcare’ and some crap about it all being social transition then puberty blockers, which if you change your mind apparently puberty just starts up again. Umm, does it? And that making a child go through ‘the wrong’ puberty is traumatising 🙄 please!!! Many adults who questioned their gender identity in their youth have said it was puberty that made their gender dysphoria go away. How the hell can you say you don’t want a female body (if you’re a ‘trans boy’) if you haven’t even developed yet?? Also the thing she shared said no surgery is performed to under 16s. She obviously hasn’t seen that nut case Irish surgeon in Florida who is ‘yeeting the teets’ of girls as young as 13.

ps do not look at the hashtag yeettheteets on Instagram 😮😵💫

Speaking from my own experience, I genuinely think many—probably MOST—defenders do not understand what "gender-affirming care" actually means w/r/t minor children. I had no idea what puberty blockers actually did and like lots of people, thought that they were wholly reversible. I had NO idea double mastectomies were being performed on teen girls! I did not realize what cross-sex hormones did to a person's body, particularly women receiving massive doses of testosterone over an extended period of time. I was entirely in the dark about GRS, that neo-vaginas require a lifetime of daily dilation and transmen are mutilating their bodies to get rid of their breasts and create fake penises. I didn't think there was any way transgenderism could be down to social contagion or a trend. Once you learn all of this, it's like the scales fall from your eyes in so many ways. It all hides in plain sight, though.

Busy Philipps whose child has gone dressed as Fiona from Shameless for Halloween - who has crushes on boys - as per normal for a girl and dresses like a teen girl. I have no clue why they hav decided they are they except for the teen version of clout.

I have just read an article in the Liverpool Echo about a young woman finally being diagnosed with endometriosis after many years . A spokesman from the endometriosis group explained it as a problem suffered by people assigned female at birth ! I was horrified at this and posted a comment on the comments page stating my disgust and was pleased to find several others had as well

Yeah but she’s KwEEr though 🙄 like just her saying that makes her a special unicorn. Everything about her is female. Why she thinks she’s neither female nor male (why would she be male 🤔) is just bizarre. Busy will go along with anything she says and her followers can’t stop with the Birdie is more cool than I’ll ever be comments - gah 🤮

It's a nice idea but the police only police women, not protect them. Sadly.

Emma Watson’s facial expressions when she was saying she was ‘here for all the witches’ made me cringe sooo hard, she had such a typical mean girl attitude. She’s still trying to score points against the author of a franchise she last acted in 11 years ago - move on Emma. Or is it because the only thing she’s been known for since is singing badly in Beauty and the Beast?

She is pathetic. I recently watched HP for the first time (I know, 21 years late to the party 😅) and even as a child she was extremely irritating and crap at acting.
