I doubt people will be so quick to vote for him considering he represents Fine Gael but who knows what way people will go. Maria Walsh getting a lot of stick, nothing at all from her the last 5 years and she’s only showing up again for re- election.

i don’t think tattle is the place for sorting out housing & immigration policies, it’s also no place for racism
And just to add, I’ve recently had a baby, childcare is so expensive and i have no friends or family local so it’s looking like I’m going back to work to hand it all over to childcare or not go back to work at all. I’ve been ill since giving birth and am not entitled to medical cards, so don’t start with the ‘what’s wrong with that’. People come into this country, get handed medical cards, houses, grants for x y z. Come to this country and work like the rest of us by all means, but to hop off a boat or a plane and have everything ready for you to live a life is a kick in the teeth for the rest of us who are scraping by and paid taxes in a country since we were 18.
It’s not racist to be concerned about a group being sent to an area that is under pressure with resources as it is, not to mention it’s a Gaeltacht. The primary language is Irish.
