How about asking for some when buying takeout 3 times a day. Or at reception. Or anyone at the camp grounds.

Not even gonna waste any energy rolling my eyes at a 39 year old not being able to cook a meal for himself.

I don't think that he actually can't cook, it's more like he chooses not to as he doesn't value cooking/everyone has always done it for him so why should he bother type of person.
I think he's using the pan problem as an excuse to justify him eating take out, if he really wanted to be cooking pasta, then he would be.
He seems quite happy to let other people do things for him a lot of the time, which has really come across in this cross country driving series.
I agree, I really don't understand why the man can't find some quarters to have a shower either...

I thought this about their UK rental too. Two adults and a newborn moving into a 3 story mansion at Brighton beach, acting like that's how the average Brit lives when even people in well paying professions could never afford that.
And the moving out vlog was even crazier, when you could see that every room was filled to the brim with stuff they accumulated in just 3 years. And then Raya sells herself as an earth goddess and Louis as an eco warrior when in reality, they're all about luxury and consumerism.

This! And why did they leave everything to the last minute when moving out??? He's lucky his dad is always there to help out but it was the night before they moved out and alot of their furniture was still not even dismantled and so much stuff everywhere ! When I've moved I've literally just had my mattress on the floor to sleep on the last night and everything else set to go

I just watched a few of the jungle diaries and I just get the vibe that Raya just isn’t cut out for this life. I feel like having a baby has maybe opened her eyes to it all and opened her eyes to the way Louis doesn’t behave like a grown man. She seems irritated by him a lot.

I'm finally caught up on the series.
He's so frustrating during this trip! He knew it would be cold so didn't think to try and close up the gap in the foot well so he can keep warm then complained about his feet being cold for a couple or episodes until he got to tenessee and kara bought him battery powered socks? He couldn't have bought them himself?! He just seems so unprepared - he didn't have the right adaptor to charge to begin with and ended up relying on that guy to drive 6 plus hours to pick him one up. It's a good job he has such good friends! And sounds like he keeps calling the mechanic for advice- I bet he's fed up. And raya flew out to meet him?! Doesn't that defeat the whole point of him racing to get back to see her? And also thought one of the points of the electric bus was to help 'save the planet' and show anyone can convert a vehicle to electric so her flying out (and presumably back to New York) negates alot of that?

Remember that flying around the world project? The one for which he collected all that money (hundreds of thousands iirc) to buy a plane and promised a super documentary? That twat was just being gross and slept like an ass in the back while that other chap JP was doing all the heavy lifting by... idk... actually flying around the world. Of course, the documentary was never released and many, many people who had 'invested' were pretty miffed.

Funny to see he's doing a family vlog now and moving to Costa Rica - like Leon from the leanmachines.

They have land in Costa Rica where they are planning to build a tree house or something. But until it's built, they are living in a converted school bus there.

Just watched the video. If a decked out vehicle full of desirable stuff is abandoned for months on end, it doesn't surprise me that someone ransacked it. People break in to vehicles for a lot lot less.

- Why wouldn't you take the 'irreplaceable harddrives' with you?
- Where did they put the keys then? It wouldn't surprise me if he put them on top of one of the tyres and thought 'yep this is super safe'.

Also, an outdoor bathroom when you're living on a bus sounds awful.

I don't think Raya's as adventurous as she thinks she is. She couldn't cope with bus life and had a meltdown at the disappointment of things going wrong in Costa Rica so I can't see them moving there anytime soon, especially if they're juggling parenthood AND trying to build the house while based in another country.

The Costa Rica land is a bit of a weird/culty/coloniser idea in the first place.

I thought LA was a good fit for them with the sunshine and all their hippie influencer friends.

Honestly, watching them now I can’t believe Raya was ever in that adventuring/alternative living/van life bracket at all. Now she’s a rich girl shopaholic. Agree that that LA shared house seemed the best fit for them, not sure if it was COVID that meant they couldn’t stay there, or visa issues.

Don’t get me started on those two and sustainability- the flights! The shopping! The takeaways in his electric van and mounds of paper packaging. Louis is an affiliate for some “sustainable “ outerwear brand, because of course the most sustainable thing you can do is buy lots of new eco-friendly clothes. Even the driving, it’s laughable when vanlifers preach about the environment. Some people don’t even have cars because they are concerned about the planet, and you’re driving hundreds of miles a day in exchange for random products?

I just caught up on the videos on Raya and Louis channel. I generally enjoy their videos to be fair, but I just can't get over how dense they are sometimes. Raya was upset because a load of plates broke including her favourite mug. Yes, that's upsetting. But why on earth are they just loose in an unsecured cupboard in a moving vehicle driving on not great roads?! Use enamel plates, get a plate rack, put the elastic on the handles to make sure they can't fly open. Honestly, they should know this? They travel so much so I always expect them to have common sense but they sometimes do just the stupidest things. This was totally avoidable.

Yeah, Raya is pretty stupid. She has a lot of outlandish, unscientific beliefs and she likes pseudoscience (like the love languages theory). She actually believes in the Bosnian pyramid complex even though it has been proven that the formations are of natural origin. Maybe that's why Louis' parents aren't crazy about their son having kids with her.

Did you see the video recently where they went to Costa Rica and (mainly) raya got upset because they were flattening the land ready for utilities and stuff to go in and thats why they left for a bit as they were so annoyed / upset they didn't know if they wanted to live there anymore or something? All seemed a bit overdramstic to me. Like of course there will need to be bits done to the whole land to make it a livable village or whatever the vibe they're going for is.

Oh, the irony of people with massive carbon footprints from years of unnecessary traveling and general consumerism, always in need of high speed internet, cars, and airports, complaining about a view they wanted to exploit for their own pleasure or content being destroyed. Sometimes they disgust me so much.

Louis did some very strange facial expressions during that video!

He looks weird. His teeth (after his free Invisalign treatment) are far too regular for his otherwise uncultured appearance, they look like dentures. I know everyone shows emotion differently, but Louis sure didn't look ecstatic when he saw that blue line. He never looks genuinely excited about the things Raya gets excited about. They claim to have the same values and life plans, but sometimes it doesn't look like it. I get the feeling Louis would still be happy traveling the world by himself, making videos and hanging out with random friends. Raya seems clingy and moody, she is often passive-aggressive and hypocritical.

It's hilarious how Louis always mentions he wants to step up and fulfill his (stereotypical) role as husband, father, provider. I guess he's aware he has spent most of his life as a lazy scavenger. I wonder what his plans are in this respect. Even more ads maybe?

OMG. Raya "broke down" because she might not be able to travel for six to eight months. She's such a greedy, entitled person. They have no idea how privileged their life has been. And what's the point of flying Neo all over the place at this age? He won't be able to remember anything.

Don't most people who actually want kids know/accept that they won't get to do most things they used to do? Most parents wouldn't be surprised that they can't go abroad or travel for probably years, let alone 6-8 months lol

I get that travelling is their 'shtick' but they're seeming pretty entitled. Let the kid have some stability and routine ffs

I really want to know where the cognitive dissonance comes from of watching a couple do nothing all day except go to the pool, eat out and drive around aimlessly, pay more than 1k for groceries per trip, hire 2 nannies, live in a 3k rental and then say to yourself "I have to help these poor people".

In an expat “ego village”!!!! Americans building a place in Costa Rica is like a Brit having a holiday home on the Costa Del Sol. It’s not “living in community” or “working our land” or any of that nonsense they spout.

Love it when commenters say “can you talk about how all the Alegria residents help out in the community farm”. No they can’t, because they don’t, they hire locals to do it colonial style and just turn up and collect the produce.

I agree that Raya’s family are minted but I think Louis spent his YouTube money, thinking the good times would last forever. The last few videos have had intros with clips from past videos and “If you’re new around here”, they are trying to relaunch and grow their audience. They need the money from YouTubing right now. If he had millions tucked away they would build the whole house now, not in stages. He has his other channel with his tech sponsorships but the audience isn’t huge.
