A grown man doesn't shower for 7 days 🤢 because he doesn't have coins...
How about asking for some when buying takeout 3 times a day. Or at reception. Or anyone at the camp grounds.

Not even gonna waste any energy rolling my eyes at a 39 year old not being able to cook a meal for himself.

I wonder if influencers ever think twice before posting a 'day in my life' vlog that shows them doing nothing but shopping and eating out before returning to their 4 bedroom house at the beach, with the biggest worry in life being not having a big enough board game selection or how to decorate the female meditation room.

I just can't see them living out in Costa Rica!
For sure. She get pregnant again in a year, so that will put it back another year, by then hopefully Louis will have a new dream / everything there will have moved on without them.
Louis definitely wasted a lot of cash in the good years, he knows that, and talks a lot about electric vehicles, the environment, community and vegan food for someone with no intention of reducing a terrible carbon footprint. But the guy can really graft when he wants to… he’s the one that made everything they’ve done happen. Maybe she’s hoping he finds a more stable thing that makes him happy / money and he’ll settle down and focus on that.

I watched it 😂

They are leaving for the rainy season….but then they let slip that they had to leave in June anyway because their visas are only for 6 months.
Their house won’t be finished on 1 June as they had been repeatedly promised…they put this down to local culture rather than them changing their minds repeatedly on how many rooms they want.

They over shared about money, their budget is really tight and. they can’t afford to rent their current Alegria AirBnB as it’s $3000 a month. They mentioned having to manage on $15k a month for the next 3 months. It’s a huge amount by my standards but who knows how much they have coming in monthly… Still, I don’t think Cho Cho will let them starve.

So they are off travelling and have “loads of exciting plans” so it clearly wasn’t such a surprise to them that they will leave CR.

It seemed like Raya had to get Louis to agree that they shouldn’t stay on in the half-finished house by discussing how stressed she has been on camera, he didn’t seem to get it till then.

Apart from that it was the usual. Off to the Alegria produce day, late, with a massive bag for life to hold 3 bunches of kale and a few mini bananas. Loads of eating out despite the complaints about money. The kids in nappies which we skip through. Louis with his top off which we play fast to get through it. Put on a top! The kids in precarious positions. Raya went to “breathwork” which was even more nonsensical than last week’s thing where they talked about seeds but fiddled with pots of powder.

oh god….missed a bit…he bought a sofa from someone and was cleaning it. It was covered in stains, it was the most minging piece of filth I’ve ever seen, and we once had a sofa that we found abandoned by the British Legion so are hardly fussy. I suppose it was meant to be an interesting project to watch but his rich American commenters were horrified.

When they bought the property, they straight away said they'd not stay there during rainy season, so to sell this now as a hardship with Raya crying in the thumbnail is repulsive. Or is she crying about having to live on 15k a month and having to book 4 star hotels instead of 5 star on their upcoming luxury travels while going in on the construction workers on minimum wage who are away from their families all week to build her palace? I can't believe there are 478 brain dead people in the world who are funding this on Patreon.

Just popping in to say that this guy is an absolute tool.

There was a video of his I watched a few years ago where he came back to the UK temporarily after some time abroad. He’d been sent a court summons because he hadn’t paid an outstanding driving fine (or something like that) and he acted like a complete man child. Having a strop that - shock horror - the rules applied to him too. Sulking. Moaning. Getting his dad to drive him everywhere. Exactly the behaviour you’d expect from a middle-aged white man with dreadlocks who doesn’t have a proper job.

It's the whole 'natural is better' preachy attitude she has that grates me. Whether it's to do with health or travel or literally anything else, there's always some lecture about how her lifestyle is THE way to go about things.

Sometimes it isn't. I wouldn't do what she did and immediately dismiss professional advice because she wanted a week of lying upside down or whatever 'natural methods' she's on about. I get the situation sucks and she is acting on emotion, but the way she talked at the nurses really irked me.

So they're moving to Brighton as the UK has better healthcare than the US and to be close to friends with kids.
I'm guessing they mean Zoe and Alfie. Does his friend Steve Booker live in Brighton too?
I hope his parents are prepared to soon be taking care of their dog who they'll abandon every time they get invited to a gifted luxury stay somewhere.
It's funny how they make out they're so adventurous and unconventional, so daring and free, and yet, when it comes down to it, they are as stuffy and bourgeois as the next person, maybe more so in Raya's case. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the baby is going to have a stable environment at least for a while, but it just goes to show how quickly they divert from their path and turn their back on everything they have been raving about for the last years. They are just tourists taking the scenic route, not trailblazers or adventurers.

LOL at Raya rambling on about how we are all meant to be living in community. She and Louis spent years leading self-centered, elitist lives traveling the world. And then they decide to move really far away from their families (their ageing parents!)....to live in community! You couldn't make this shit up. And all those people she doesn't even know, whom she sees as lifelong friends already, only seem so great to her because she doesn't know them. You won't get along with everyone just because you decided to live in a group. Sure, people there are open and they want to make it work. But they will all encounter disagreement, anger, boredom, indifference along with the support, parties, and friendship, it's just how people are. So far, every day is like a holiday. Poor Louis spends some time cleaning and measuring up the lot, but aside from that they are just strolling around, meeting friends, eating out several times a day, getting tubs of ice cream and some dessert after a three course meal (no wonder Raya is as big as she is). And I agree with the person who said that Raya and Louis want to live with house mates because they can't be just with themselves or each other. Always distracting themselves with Neo or food, that's their life right now. And if Raya wants to share everything with those people, why doesn't she want to have her baby there? It's good enough for the locals, but not for her!

I’d love to see some calculations of the actual carbon footprint of their neo-colonial immigrant lifestyle…all those Alegria residents are seriously minted, flying in and out, importing food etc. Raya didn’t even know whether mangos were in season….that would be the first thing any fruit-grower or eco-liver would know.

How many of you think they will actually build this guest house? I can't see them committing - also are they sure they aren't being ripped off? I have no idea about building on a plot of land but given the number of problems before even starting are they not looking at a timeline of at least 5 years? The whole I sent the architect circular houses and so he assumed I wanted a circular house I'm just like wit - surely they are paying for all these silly miscommunications

Yeah, Raya is pretty stupid. She has a lot of outlandish, unscientific beliefs and she likes pseudoscience (like the love languages theory). She actually believes in the Bosnian pyramid complex even though it has been proven that the formations are of natural origin. Maybe that's why Louis' parents aren't crazy about their son having kids with her.
She also doesn't fit into the kind of life they're planning. Their Costa Rica land is in the middle of nowhere and she still can't drive and will always be dependant on someone else. When they got stuck crossing that river, she was of no help.
She also has zero manual skills to help with any part of the tree house build. Whenever things on the bus had to be repaired or altered, she stayed far away instead of getting involved and learning by helping and just showed up for the decorating part.
And I highly doubt either of them have any experience growing their own vegetables and fruits.
They seemed pretty suited to their hippie commune LA life where Louis could skateboard along the beach all day and Raya could swan around farmers markets in her summer dresses between sponsored stays at luxury resorts where they relaxed from their hard life of doing nothing.

On the Fun For Louis channel he’s done what looks like a Costa Rica promo video to advertise the Google 360 camera. It’s quite something. Apparently Alegria is improving the land compared to what the locals did which was depriving and draining the land by grazing their cattle on it 🤔 And the usual, every other word is “community”.

Lucky a US millionaire was there to sort their country out for them eh (Steve Alegria not Louis)

I 😆 at their video comments when people ask about the Alegria “community” all working on the land together. No mate. The Alegria residents are expat jetset millionaires buying/building holiday homes and employing locals as builders, farmers and nannies. HTH.
Of course the cattle keeping the grass short on uneven terrain where no machine could get to is the enemy.
Not the millionaires cutting down decades old trees and building concrete blocks that they call tree houses with all the toxic waste going straight in the water system. And all that lovely sewage, the carbon footprint from flying back and forth and needing a car to get around the "eco community". I'm sure the local wildlife is also thriving with all the construction noise and humans everywhere. What a gift to nature Algeria is.

They can't even correctly formulate the single sentence on their Patreon

Imagine paying €10 a month for the privilege of getting first dibs on merch or showing up to a silent disco party run by these clowns 😂

You know for a fact it’s not what she wants when she’s talking already about building a bedroom with an ensuite etc.

She wants something like a luxury yoga retreat permanently with high end bathrooms and bedrooms and Louis would live on that bus forever

Raya isn't the brightest. You expect her to be intelligent and well-educated because of her looks and background, but she's actually drawn to pseudoscience and unfounded trends. I understand all the fear, sadness, and insecurity involved in situations like this. But Raya comes across as so self-righteous and entitled in this situation. She expects everything in her life to go perfectly and has a tantrum when it doesn't.

Do you guys think the baby is already there by now? The strike was on Tuesday, so she might have gotten an appointment to have her surgery already, and I feel like they might have waited to post this video until the baby was safely born.

I admit I don't know that much about Raya, but did her parents financially support most of her lifestyle? I remember her saying in a video that as soon as they got married, Louis became the main/sole earner or something like that. I thought it was weird cos she had her own stuff going on but as soon as they got married she just...stopped earning money?

Unless they have a huge amount of savings or secret investments it's hard to believe how much they can afford. After spending most of their savings on the whole Costa Rica venture (their words), I don't get why they would choose to live in one of the most expensive cities to live in. Especially in a house that big. Maybe there's some secret investments we don't know about? idk
They definitely paid for everything up until she got together with Louis. Raya went to university in London and she showed her central London apartment once which was ridiculously spacious and had high end furniture. She also mentioned during their UK van trip that she traveled all over Europe during those uni years and not seeing anything of the UK because of it. Clearly all paid for by her parents as she wasn't working. Then she moved back to NYC and lived in a really fancy Manhatten apartment with her friend Lilly who she met at boarding school. She was working 2 hours a week as a freelance caterer at the time and taking weeks off frequently to follow Louis on his travels. Again, those 2 hours a week don't pay for a Manhatten apartment and international travel. I assumed that they were supporting her until very recently because Raya was casually jetting off to Italy for a few days to go shopping with her mum and often flying to LA or NY which gets mentioned casually in videos now and then.
Louis' parents supported them financially too by buying their van and letting them use it for free now, obviously.
