Do they own their own place yet? I just can’t imagine them being parents and needing to settle down somewhere to raise a child when they’re such nomads. Even the pregnancy announcement is filmed in a random field on deck chairs
They have land in Costa Rica where they are planning to build a tree house or something. But until it's built, they are living in a converted school bus there.Do they own their own place yet? No idea but it's jarring isn't it? I can only assume they've grown apart since Louis and Raya travel so much. But wouldn't you still be happy for your son? Weird. Maybe she's worried about their future given their lifestyle. It's hardly suitable for raising a child IMO...Yikes.... his parents were NOT happy. His mom especially couldn't even hide her disdain. Wow. Does anyone know the story there?
They seem very impulsive. Jump into things and worry about the consequences later.Nothing they do makes sense. They arrive at their land and instead of getting things in motion for their house, princess Raya has a meltdown and they're off on a 3 month long holiday. But not before adopting a dog and instantly abandoning her.
And now they're pregnant but have no place to stay or raise that kid. Raya obviously comes from wealth, so they won't ever have to worry about money but isn't this a time in your life when you want to build a home for your family and stop living out of a suitcase?
Yeah, Raya is pretty stupid. She has a lot of outlandish, unscientific beliefs and she likes pseudoscience (like the love languages theory). She actually believes in the Bosnian pyramid complex even though it has been proven that the formations are of natural origin. Maybe that's why Louis' parents aren't crazy about their son having kids with her.I just caught up on the videos on Raya and Louis channel. I generally enjoy their videos to be fair, but I just can't get over how dense they are sometimes. Raya was upset because a load of plates broke including her favourite mug. Yes, that's upsetting. But why on earth are they just loose in an unsecured cupboard in a moving vehicle driving on not great roads?! Use enamel plates, get a plate rack, put the elastic on the handles to make sure they can't fly open. Honestly, they should know this? They travel so much so I always expect them to have common sense but they sometimes do just the stupidest things. This was totally avoidable.
Oh, the irony of people with massive carbon footprints from years of unnecessary traveling and general consumerism, always in need of high speed internet, cars, and airports, complaining about a view they wanted to exploit for their own pleasure or content being destroyed. Sometimes they disgust me so much.Did you see the video recently where they went to Costa Rica and (mainly) raya got upset because they were flattening the land ready for utilities and stuff to go in and thats why they left for a bit as they were so annoyed / upset they didn't know if they wanted to live there anymore or something? All seemed a bit overdramstic to me. Like of course there will need to be bits done to the whole land to make it a livable village or whatever the vibe they're going for is.
He looks weird. His teeth (after his free Invisalign treatment) are far too regular for his otherwise uncultured appearance, they look like dentures. I know everyone shows emotion differently, but Louis sure didn't look ecstatic when he saw that blue line. He never looks genuinely excited about the things Raya gets excited about. They claim to have the same values and life plans, but sometimes it doesn't look like it. I get the feeling Louis would still be happy traveling the world by himself, making videos and hanging out with random friends. Raya seems clingy and moody, she is often passive-aggressive and hypocritical.Louis did some very strange facial expressions during that video!
How rude to surprise their friends and family with this news while filming them....anything for a buck (= content).4:46... how awkward!
It's hilarious how Louis always mentions he wants to step up and fulfill his (stereotypical) role as husband, father, provider. I guess he's aware he has spent most of his life as a lazy scavenger. I wonder what his plans are in this respect. Even more ads maybe?Nothing they do makes sense. She also doesn't fit into the kind of life they're planning. Their Costa Rica land is in the middle of nowhere and she still can't drive and will always be dependant on someone else. When they got stuck crossing that river, she was of no help.Yeah, Raya is pretty stupid. They are probably waiting for some gifted accommodation.Have they talked about their plans now that they're expecting? Surely, they're not raising a baby in a mouldy bus and they haven't bothered even starting to build their house in Costa Rica.
Whenever they visit the UK, they stay with his parents. I can't imagine them ever living in Europe, if they were to give up their Costa Rica plans, LA would be their destination imho since that was the only place they've ever settled at. Raya's parents own houses in Manhatten and Woodstock and might have more real estate they could move into.Louis must own a house in the UK? Even if it started as an investment thing, doubt his parents let him do this without a nest egg at home, I think if he didn’t they’d be more worried
The thing is, Louis is hilariously bad with his money. Just look at his most recent videos on his channel. I cannot imagine him doing anything sensible with such as buying an investment house years ago when YT was earning him the most.Louis must own a house in the UK? I still think this is why his parents had such an odd reaction to them announcing Raya's pregnancy, because they have no stable home base.Louis must own a house in the UK? It's crazy to look back to a time when Louis made so much money, that he had several people employed. Ange, who was basically his PA and organized his life and business. Rachel was hired to write blog posts and whatever else she did. He launched his own app (was it called Storie?), then did the flight around the world with JP via gofundme and premiered parts of it at film festivals. And all the YouTube conventions he attended...It looks like Louis made an absolute fortune at the height of his Youtube fame but spent it all and now he’s scrambling to get some back. We have watched him for years, it’s great to be able to discuss him finally!
The trouble is it’s different times, user bases don’t grow like they used to, and now he‘s with Raya he won’t be doing his ”lads on tour” travel, doing backflips in front of world sites. Positioning himself as an eco warrior won’t wash when his vlogs’ main subject requires taking loads of long haul flights. To be fair he does seem to realise that he should travel less and not brag about flying, but he still does it. When he flew to Kenya from Costa Rica for a few days and then complained about plastic packaging on the train food - that was outrageous.
Raya is out of touch as a Youtuber too. She really wants to be this beautiful rich girl that says how lucky she is and everyone envies her, but she’s not quite that, and if she was she’d face a backlash anyway. Mommy blogging is increasingly problematic, people are very concerned about the kids’ privacy now, so she should be careful with that route. Her best bet (assuming she wants to keep doing Youtube) is to go and be an earth mother in Costa Rica so at least they have the community and the scenery to vlog about, but it seems like something’s gone wrong with that.
It’s a shame that nobody ever talks about how Youtube doesn’t last for ever, even Casey Neistat doesn’t vlog like he used to. Like any sort of showbiz career, it comes to a natural end for 99.99% of people. Ideally they could take a break from it and get their family life started off thinking not about what will look cool to others, but what they actually want to do.
