Michael Masi has quit the FIA. Shame he couldn’t quit before 2021. An absolute insult to Charlie. The most useless, pointless FIA director, who committed daylight robbery to LH. Good riddance Michael!

absolutely useless (and not just even in That race, everyone remembers spa 2021 for another!) - shame he didn’t have some degree of humility and resign as soon as the enquiry results came out.
he will forever be known as “no michael, this is not right!!” and it is the legacy he deserves tbh.

you have no idea how much i would love to see seb there! i think he would really love the opportunity too, and aston martin just looks a miserable environment. albon is an interesting one too but i can’t see them going for two drivers around the same age and experience level.So rumours at McLaren

i just can’t see daniel staying there past this season tbh. he doesn’t look happy and the way the team talks about him just isn’t encouraging. i really
hope his career doesn’t end on this note but who knows.

my (secret) dream is pierre to mercedes.
in this dream lewis does one more season, wins the wdc he was robbed of, retires and tells merc to give pierre his seat. i hope at least two of those things happen
same! i have issues with how they’re treating daniel but i think it’s an environment that seb would thrive in tbh - especially with how deep the history is. and his team-mate wouldn’t be the owner’s son, which can only help!

i can’t blame him! i like listening to the drivers’ radios after races on yt and lance’s are usually him whining while his race engineer reassures him and tells him he’s doing an awesome job etc etc. seb’s are just completely despondent at this point. the atmosphere at that team must be so strange.
he’s got more podiums in him, we know, and i’d love him to be at a team where that’s slightly more of a possibility. but i don’t know if the am experience after the ferrari experience might just mean he wants a quiet retirement now. it’s a hard old sport when the joy starts getting away from you, i think daniel is finding that rn now.

My thoughts; I think (hope?) Daniel will stay at McLaren in 2023. Sadly I think it's been a case of wrong team at the wrong time for a lot of his career. He wants to be a No1 driver and it's just never gonna happen. I bet he wishes he never left Renault/Alpine.
Out of the rest of the grid, as a McLaren fan, I'd LOVE Seb there if Daniel left. As a Daniel fan, I'd be sad, but it's just not working for him.

i’ve always said that daniel should have stayed at renault/alpine and i am sure that he regrets that now. it was the best fit for what he wants and would have been a far better environment with a team who would have respected his input/experience. like you say, maclaren just isn’t (for whatever central reason) working out and i worry that there’s now no space for him on the grid.
i fully fully agree that he’s been wrong team at the wrong time for a lot of his career.

Definitely getting the same defeated vibes from Seb as his latter Ferrari days. He seems to be getting more joy from his off-track activities / pursuits.
Also, funny you mention Stroll. I said to my hubby on Sunday that it's almost like he doesn't exist. Commentators & presenters barely mention him (I guess he just cruises along towards the back end so nothing to discuss & then there's the nepotism I'm sure they dislike) and his team radio is rarely shown... Now I know why
i’ve noticed that too! he and latifi fill very similar roles for me - they both barely get mentioned (unless, in latifi’s case, he’s crashing) and the only really “interesting” thing about lance is the nepotism, which like you say isn’t something they want to discuss. lance isn’t going anywhere obvs but i wonder how much longer latifi has left.Also, funny you mention Stroll. i will say that lance’s dynamic with his previous race engineer, brad (or bbbrrraaadddd as lance would say) are responsible for some of the best recent team radios you’ll hear. brad hated him

i feel like it’s rare for him to do a post like this so agree that it must be winding him up. understandable!
At the end of the day it's all talk until it happens. Usually the journos put 2 and 2 together and think nah that's not interesting let's add this. So mainly made up. A lot of rumours do cone from within though and get told to a "reliable" source.
