I've not had German Doner Kebab yet, but my step-son raves about them. He's something of a kebab expert, so I would take his recommendation seriously.

I am going out to dinner tonight!!! Haven't seen any friends in 4 months so I am overly excited. Going to a pub(!) which specialises in burgers so I of course have already chosen my meal via the online menu and told Mr Cow what is acceptable for him to order so I can also eat off his plate
It's a 220-mile round trip to my nearest Big Mac, but this local copy, the Large Mack, is a mere 90-mile round trip. I haven't had one for a month, must find an excuse to go back there next week!

I love Melizcooks! There's a mince and potato dish of hers that I recommend, I made it a few weeks back. All done in one tray (hers looks nicer than my one!) I really want to try her chicken doner recipe.

@Flumps when we make kebab chilli sauce we use fresh chillies, diced onion, chopped tomatoes and plenty of garlic, some lemon juice and seasoning. The kebab shops around here make their own quite chunky/rustic sauce so we try and copy that!
thank you! It's fine, I should find out the date I'm getting induced on the 27th which thankfully gives us some time, also averts a disaster as that's the week we have 3 different tradesmen in (all at different times, obviously) to finish up the house!

I've looked up Shakeshack as husband went to one when he was in the USA and said it was delicious, however they're only in London (and one branch in Brighton). Booooo. There's a Taco Bell in Newcastle but I've not been. Sigh. Frozen pizza for dinner tonight.
I tried making this cake (https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/lemon-cake/) but it's all gone wrong and looks like a giant pudding with crumpet size holes in, I'm not sure that the icing will hide quite how terrible it looks. I normally stick to Victoria sponge recipes but tried branching out into something more exciting, like using buttermilk and fresh lemons (fancy).
