So the quints have just turned 4 now. How on earth can the parents think it's okay that they have been responsible for earning the family's income for the past 4 years? Given the 'agreement' that they will both do one vlog a week, they seem to have an ongoing expectation that this will continue, and it is beyond disgusting. They need to join the real world and get jobs to earn an income like regular people do. Jamie was never into vlogging so her new found enthusiasm for it just shows that she is willing to sell out her kids for easy money. I found Skylar's recent vlog very sad and telling. Assuming that he doesn't have shared care of the kids so just has them on an occassional basis/ for days etc, he needs to put the damn camera down. He can't take the quints out without the devoted Whitney at his side - because he is concentrating on vlogging, not his kids. In the recent one she had organised the snacks, she was dealing with 4 of the kids walking along while he was vlogging, and she was dealing with putting the kids in their car seats while he was sitting in his seat vlogging. He is not being present for his kids in the time that he does has contact with them, but hey - gotta get that easy income right? And as much as I didn't want to believe it when someone else suggested it earlier in the thread - him and Whitney are coming across in a bit of an unusual way for being relatives.
@MrsSlocombe I agree with the point that things seem pretty off, if anything the quints seem more whingey and whiney than they used to, almost to the point where I can’t watch much of their vlogs anymore.
The quints are dealing with and processing the break up of their parent's marriage - that is traumatic for kids and part of their probably normal response will be for them to be acting out/ be more whiney etc. It does make keeping on using them for the family's income even more disgusting - the poor kids now have two separate households to support. I honesty don't see how their parents can think that is in any way acceptable.
Skylar bought his own house. That's gotta mean they're not getting back together? Wild!!
Well, hopefully that means that he has found himself some type of regular job to fund buying a house, and as it appears that Jamie is staying in the family home that Jamie has also found a regular job to fund that. Good on them, if that is what has happened. If they are expecting the quints to now fund two homes, then they are scum.
The main family house Jamie is still in is rented. I always thought it strange that everytime they moved that they would rent again claiming they couldn't decide whether to buy a house or build. Now they've separated Skylar has obviously made the move onto the property ladder. It's a lovely house to be fair and wonderful for the children. I must admit I like how rough and ready the children are in his videos and they all wear different clothes and the girls hair is often just down. In the majority of Jamie's videos they all have to be turned out pristine and all matching with hair bows etc. Just not a very realistic picture of 4 year olds. Either way sounds like the separation is long term now which is a shame.
I love how when they're with their dad they just look like 'normal' kids. There is something weird about dressing them all in identikit prarie outfits. Its really quite creepy to make them all so squeaky clean and perfect, they're 4 for goodness sake! They should already have found their own little identities and their likes and dislikes with clothing now. I know I had some very strong opinions about what I wore at their age!
I also don't quite understand why they've kept Violets hair short? This has been bugging me for quite some time. Why let the other two grow it out and leave her with a bob? It seems rather alienating, especially since Vivi has dark hair, she fully looks like the odd one out.
How much do they make on YT to afford both those houses?
Violet looks like her dad the most,all the others resemble mom.
That hous looks great! As everyone said the kids on his vlogs seem so much more relaxed and "normal"

Maybe, I also always wanted and had short hair when I was little. Had a little helmet bob down to my chin. I just think I remember a conversation, back when the girls had their first haircuts, that Jamie had said that SHE prefers violets hair like that, as in mum is dictating. Idk, I feel very sensitive to having kids be purposely alienated. Especially since the girls will be compared by outsiders, and this isn't helped by Lily and Daisy looking basically like twins. No one can help genetics though! I remember (despite wanting the short hair, and being happy with it) feeling a bit envious of other girls, with their long swishy hair. If it's not Violets choice, that can be really hurtful. But who knows, Violet may well love having short hair compared to her sisters, she is a very bonny little girl, no matter what hair cut or outfit and she's clever to boot, I would like to think they couldn't force Violet either way, long or short. She's got her own mind!
As much as I really don't want to support their channel, I'm also curious to see where he goes with things. I hated the old fashioned matching outfits, so it is refreshing to see them look like more normal 4 year olds with him. When they were together they seemed to have a really strict routine even as the kids got older (down to ridiculous stuff like outdoor play only being at scheduled times), but there were also elements of their parenting that was really slack - particularly pulling them up on bad behaviour e.g. the boys destroying their room, and ripping books. Maybe both of them are better parenting separately - if things are poles apart though it may be a hard adjustment for the kids (and I still hugely object to them being used for income). When I watched their channel I had a soft spot for Violet - she is very intelligent and seems more individual than the two boys and her two sisters.
I always thought the house Jamie is in that they actually bought that house. I remember their previous house was rented for a short time but I really thought they bought the house Jamie lives in.
they’ve never really had the children alone; they’ve always had help from the church or the twins and even a nanny I believe so the idea of skyler having to have supervised contact is quite far fetched - anything that could be deemed even mildly “inappropriate” I doubt there would be any contact at all due to Jamie’s prim and proper outlook. I definitely feel that the split was something that always would’ve come. Jamie lost a lot of herself during and after the pregnancy with the quints - she seemed very vacant and uninterested. You can see little bits of her true self when she speaks about the garden etc. Whatever has gone on I doubt we will ever find out
Yeah I agree I am pretty sure I remember them saying they bought that house. The one prior to that was a rental.

I feel this has something to do with Mormonism and faith crises ...
And it is strange to see his side of the family now is in the vlogs.." He he" has been there alot, but not so much anyone else... And Jamie's family is now back in the vlogs too.. maybe it's just a coincidence, but I don't think so. Some conflict must have been there, between their families.
I feel so bad for all those children... But if Skylar has left the cult, I'm all in , then he do open up the children's life to a better future... It's strange though, cos they just keep smiling to their camera, but must go through a really hard time, all if them.
They should stop vlogging their children now, they can both work at least 50% now..and maybe do something with their channel that doesn't show the kids.
They don't seems to like it very much eighter.
But He have bought this new beautiful home now . And she lives in the "old" one.. there must be other income in the mix here too, I think. ... Cos their vlogs doesn't make them that much money?
