I had it for a while too (to conceal all the grey). But it always looked dirty. Even though I spent a fortune on salon products. Plus, it was expensive (foils every two or so months at a cost of $340). I just let it grow out before getting it trimmed to above my shoulders and revertiing to dying with semis every six or so weeks (a box of dye is about $12) and it's easy to do yourself. I also use one of those coloured hair wax sticks to cover any odd greys that come through. People tell me I look far healthier with light brown / auburnish hair.

Back to Emmylou - I'm guessing she doesn't get her hair appointments for free, and she seems to go every other week - imagine how much money she could save if she did her hair at home by herself (and only went in for cuts / treatments)?

At this point we should all be her Life Coaches!

Exactly! You would think a "beauty therapist" would be able to colour her own hair. Plus she's an ambassador for Garnier. Free product!

She went to Thailand for a MONTH to learn how to box? How does she think that is normal behaviour? And has the audacity to add ‘Live that life’ on her post about it, like we should all aspire to be selfish fucks like her and do what we want, when we want with no regards for anyone else in our life/family.

In a word, yes.

My reasoning: EL is a typical narc. Huge ego on her. Her tribe fill the emotional void in her life and provide her with the adulation she so desperately craves. In her head, she is THE ultimate Melbourne celebrity. But none of the Melbourne set want to know her. She's that acquaintance who you kind of know, and then when you spend more than 5 minutes with you realise why you're not actually friends. So she tells herself that the fabulous people are her friends, knowing full well that they're not, but pretends that she's too busy to have a social life because she's running an empire Then, when she needs a pick me up and deigns to associate with the tribe (who she revved into a frenzy originally by presenting herself as this rough, relatable diamond) it fills her bucket for all of 5 minutes before she is painfully reminded of the fact that she is just like them. Completely ordinary and totally average. She needs them, yet she resents them.

She reminds me of a radio man who used to live in my area. On the radio he was this lovely, all-for-the-people type man who loved his audience and was oh, so grateful that they tuned in day after day ... as listeners would call in, he'd compliment them and gush about how much they meant to him. In public, however, he was known to hide behind plants when he saw one of the great unwashed members of the public call out his name or approach him, and if someone dared ask him for an autograph while he was at a restaurant or whatever, he'd read them the riot act. He really thought he was something and assumed that everyone listened to his show and thought the world of him.

I think some of EL's audience admire her for being "just like us" ... she (over)shares every aspect of her life and they feel like she's a friend - or at least relatable.

I find it insulting that one of the items for sale might have been a bag gifted by a friend - says a lot about her really.

Why would people sign up to Emmylou's Bali retreat when they could sign up to Rachel Hunter and Renee Stewart's, where they also get to work on their inner selves with yoga and breath work? I wonder what Emmylou's audience will get ... probably just a heap of, "woe is me" tales.

I dont mind that she spent that much on cheese and brought bought all of that quince paste bc its money for the business and good for them! They sell great cheese and i just hope that by tagging them it doesnt mean she did an under the table deal with them for a discount and it was just a tag bc she really likes the lady and the shop.

I am so grateful to EL for telling me to put the cheese and bread and berries out where I want them so when its time to open them, i know where to put them. Lol.

All the women at the warehouse looked exactly as I pictured and absolutely are the type to go on her bali experience. They reek of ciggies through the screen. I dont feel sorry for them. If they cant tell they are being fleeced thats on them. They are willingly attending these events!

I dont think EL did anything not above board with her sales tonight. I dont think she is as stupid as she looks when it comes to business. She manages her disposable income poorly but i dont think she is stupid enough to not disclose sales of the book or merch.

In the end I love that she said 200 people registered and like maybe 12% of that showed up over the course of 3 hours. People probably registered for fun she has at least 200 hate followers!

The dirty blonde is aging, and (to my eye) it never looks good.

Sure, it's low(er) maintenance if you're going grey, but I don't think she is? If she is, she could just use semi-permanent colour and re-apply it herself every few weeks, and invest in some great conditioning treatments. She'd have to wait for the blonde to grow out though as I don't think colour stripper will work on bleach.

Where are the clothes she's wearing in these pictures? She used to dress really nicely.

I'm thinking how easy it would be to replicate this look ...

1) start with a toilet brush and holder
2) fill the cavity with concrete and make sure it's smooth on the top (which will be the bottom)
3) tip it upside down and glue a flat plate to the top
4) cover with gold foil and marble paper adhesives

Emmylou, give it a go! Come on, get your craft on and show your audience how they can steal the look for less!
