That is how they do it though. That’s exactly how I was diagnosed by an NHS psychiatrist, they took a history (which they’ll have done for her as well), and because I was a child they also got my school teachers to fill in a questionnaire about my behaviour, then I went for a 1 hour assessment and at the end they diagnosed me with ADHD.Absolutely private consultations and diagnostics are just as valid as NHS services. However, I do doubt the validity of a diagnosis which has been made after a 60 minute virtual consultation when the clinician doesn't have a full picture of Eden's symptoms and behaviours. It feels irresponsible for them to categorically just say she has ADHD from one appointment like that. If there's any criticism to be made then it's aimed at those clinicians rather than the patients who are desperately seeking answers.
There's no shame in choosing the private route to get your diagnosis when the NHS has been brought to its knees thanks to the current government. You have to do what's in your best interest. It just frustrates me that once again Eden is discrediting the people that genuinely struggle with ADHD by making it seem like all you need is a quick chat with a person you've never met to get a diagnosis and that it's just some quirky little disorder that makes her say outrageous things and lay in bed all day.
My son is exactly the same, I get called all sorts and try to explain to him it’s not kind behaviour and he can’t use it as an excuse. He is very compassionate to others when someone is unkind to them but then he does it and he thinks it’s okay/acceptable as he knows he has additional needs and ADHD. She’s ONLY 25, but my 9 year old knows not to swear, be rude or just be a complete bellend and I am really working on it (single mum life) but some days are worse than others in teaching him.My 9 year old has severe ADHD bless him. And he is impulsive and sometimes says things inappropriate. We as parents are teaching him that ADHD is NOT an excuse for being rude, insulting, or inappropriate. We never let him use his ADHD for bad behaviour, he still has the same consequences as his brother. Sick of people using mental health conditions as excuses to be a cunt. The youngsters that look up to her will now use it as an excuse to behave in any manner they wish to.
I don't think it's ADHD I think she is just rude, outspoken and inappropriate and never had any come backs from her shitty behaviour
As someone else has said, that is how you're diagnosed - the only difference is that with NHS it's usually face to face. The NHS consultants only have what is sent to them, they don't usually look into your entire history (i'm basing that on the countless of specialists i've seen over the years who have had no idea of any history unless it was included in my referral letter) so the only information they can base their diagnosis from is what they're given, just like the private doctors.Absolutely private consultations and diagnostics are just as valid as NHS services. It’s so so so weird. I’ve been referred for an autism assessment (already had a childhood adhd diagnosis) & I’ve only told my sister, but only because she’s been the one I’ve always had my meltdowns too or the first person I phone when life gets too much. haven’t told my parents or my other sister, never mind millions of botsI can’t even imagine filming my appointment, the cherry on top was ‘can I share my diagnosis with people?’ …. Imagine being diagnosed with anything else and the first question is ‘can I brag about it?’
How do we watch it? I’m inSorry but I’m excited for the tea on the podcast I can’t lie
Well sharing your diagnosis is one thing… but did she the Dr know Eden was recording it and that her responses etc would be broadcast across the whole world? I would not be happy if that was me.I can’t even imagine filming my appointment, the cherry on top was ‘can I share my diagnosis with people?’ …. Imagine being diagnosed with anything else and the first question is ‘can I brag about it?’
how much are we betting that the podcast tonight doesnt talk about the Yaz x Lee divorce situation and is just about the dan sprang saga? or even include the clips they’ve been using as they’re from another episode and tonight is something else entirely as they’re all clickbaiting cnuts
Elphaba literally done the same thing as well with autism, but it wasn't even a full diagnosisI can’t even imagine filming my appointment, the cherry on top was ‘can I share my diagnosis with people?’ …. Imagine being diagnosed with anything else and the first question is ‘can I brag about it?’
