One of the (many) things that make me think that this didn't happen is that if it did Jess would surely have made some comment about the dad not moving because mum's/women are expected to do everything. It's just not credible that the airline would risk separating such a young child from their parent. They could be accidentally sat next to someone watching downloaded porn on a device or talking about strap ons. Just too much of a risk for an airline.
